"Some of us cling harder than ever to our own particular beliefs. But most of us are trying to figure out what we have in common.", says Ken Wilson, an evangelical minister and one of the leaders of a collaboration between evangelicals and scientists as they attempt to save God's creation/the environment.

I regard spirituality and science as the two great tools for finding different aspects of the same thing. Namely, the truth. Which is why I find both this article and the supposed findings it reports so troubling. Neither of the words "true" or "truth" are anywhere to be found in this article.

Determining the truth, the thing that can make us free, is the ultimate goal. Whether or not it is something held in common.

One important truth is Ken Wilson’s connection to the “global warming” hype. This is all a tool of political manipulation and has nothing to do with spirituality or the truth. Falling for this ploy for the sake of a sense of “community” at the expense of the quest for the truth is a fool's errand.

Sam: Please go to therapy. And make something good to eat and invite someone with different thoughts than you to dinner. You might learn something. Just because someone else's belief contradicts what you believe is true, doesn't mean it isn't true.
I appreciate this article.... | 11:57 a.m. July 5, 2008
It gives me something more to say than the cliche' I often use too (Spiritual, but not religious). I would also like to say that I don't attend a religion and I do think there is something more. I was previously Mormon and I have found that there are many that are Mormon and don't officially change religions or leave. But I have found that there are many Mormons that no longer really believe, but they just stay for their families and friends and go through the motions. They also may have a feeling inside of not leaving because even though it doesn't make sense, they are worrying about their eternal souls. I would like to tell you that if you leave you can find peace and a release from a terrible bondage. There is a Higher Power, but it's different for everyone.

Ra, Zeus, Poseidon, Odin, Shiva, Jesus.

None have any factual basis, none make any sense. All are indefensible wastes of time and energy.

I appricated this article also. I like to see article that say that we are bonding more as citizens in this country on matter what religion we attend. I see no reason why this article should be turned into Mormon Bashing!!!!! I think the person that did this needs to reread the article better!!!
I am glad that you have found your peace - please allow me the same right!!! By the way just a question, How can you have a higher power that is DIFFERENT for EVERYONE!!!! I don't mean this as a slam please don't take it as such - I just really have a hard time understanding this. I would like to know more IF you can possibly do it without slaming me and what I hold to be sacred. I would like to learn what you have to teach. Is that possible?

i like this article.not long ago i have been come back to church after over 20years absent.i never missed a bit anything about church during the time.life jst fly passed by so fast, until one day there were two missionaries came my house.i told them that i am not interested about religion.i get the impression that lots people using the word "religion" as a cover up.anyway,i try to come back to church n there i was, tears came down unstopping,i tried not to be so imotional, but i cant do nothing.i feel so peaceful there.now i go regularly every Sunday, although i still believe that GOD love people regardless they go to church or not.its depend on individual.as for me i never feel this way before.i thank those missionaries from the bottom of my heart, what they've done is so great !
Truth is for all | 8:55 a.m. July 6, 2008
Truth is based on fact. There can only be One Truth, and that is Jesus. 'he is the Way, the Truth and the Life." simple and bibical.
People want to be the Owner of the Truth. They want to be gods. A kingdom build on sand.
That's why Christianity is based on facts; and on the Truth, which is Jesus. He is the Rock. Its not a institutionized religion, but is based on 'living stones' which are the believers in the Truth. The temple of God is within, ...not man-made.

Don't you think the point of Jesus truth is it's personal nature? His is a truth to be lived and presented and since it stands on its own (his two feet in fact) perhaps we should focus on living and presenting it (him) rather than simply asserting or defending it (him)....Sam seems to have some special scientific insight into the complex science of climate change--perhaps he might want to let the scientists in on that! :)
