I really hope someone takes miles off our hands so we can go after maggette more freely. Magette possibly could be the extra step many teams need to get to the promise land. Utah, san antonio, boston (again). i hope the jazz dont allow magette to go to a threat and contender of the jazz. But no matter what, we should NEVER match any offer to miles more than what we did.
I have my doubts about Maggette. He's a talented player, but I don't know if he's hungry enough to ride with D-Will. (I could say the same for Booze, but it's been said).
Miles has tons of talent and athleticism. He's younger than a lot of rookies will be this year and he's smart, he passes well, and Deron loves him. He just needs experience. Right now he gets taken advantage of by crafty vets once in a while. All he needs is experience and that will be fixed. I haven't heard of much interest in Miles, so we could hopefully easily sign him to a 3-4 yr contract for cheap. I like Magette also, but that Jazz have to sign people to reasonable deals with all their salary. To get him, it has to be around the midlevel or they will have to do a sign and trade. Miles could be a valuable part of that if it came down to it. How about Harpring and a newly resigned Miles for Magette? Then again maybe the Jazz would be better staying put.
Magette talking about going to boston seems ridiculous to me, he wouldn't be starting, he'd be playing behind one of the best sg in ray allen, it wouldn't be a smart move, and if you don't win a championship doing it?
I think the jazz could get him for what he wants if the jazz can pull a sign and trade, who i'd package, and who the clippers might want-harpring, miles, and hart, that's about ten million in salary. Harpring is a decent player, but his contract is an albatross, and the clippers might not want to pay him six million a year, i wouldn't want to. but, the contracts of miles and hart are bargains, and miles is probably particularly attractive to the clippers, and, in my opinion, is ready to blossom if he gets some run. and hart has played for the clippers, they liked him so much they had him starting, they probably wouldn't mind having him back.
BRING MAGGETTE BACK HOME TO ORLANDO BABY!!!!
More often than not, these players go to a team like boston or spurs, mostly because of past championships, and that's just alot of hype, and often, the teams they go to don't win a championship-it's a glamour move, the reason is probably because if a team has already won a championship from getting a player and benefiting from this kind of hype, like the spurs, the hype has already been played out-it's not news, it's predictable and boring; it's not glamorous or admirable, it's egotistical and insecure.
the jazz are on the cusp of a championship, a player like magette could possibly push them over the top-if the jazz won the championship with magette, he'd be considered as part of the team, integral, a real contributor, not some added component or some already played out story.
come to utah magette!!
i don't think the clippers can pull a sign and trade just across the boards with the jazz, if they sign brandt.
Sounds like he wants to play for Boston. Said would play for less if it was for Boston. Who can blame him.
Why not Houston, it can work.
