Like, I was taught in economics, demand creates supplies. This is why wars on drugs don't work any better than laws against gambling stop football pools and betting the points spread.

They pay the money, advertise the product. What makes you think some don't go out of State, buy the fireworks, and use them out of State? Not everyone assumes all who see an ad will break the law.

But, I was going to evanston for beer anyway.

In The City

Legalize fireworks in the cities and you won't have people using them in the hills.

Roscoe

In The City, your logic is flawed. The writer of this letter states that illegal fireworks sold in Wyoming should not be advertised in Utah, where they are illegal. The reason is their potential for damage. You advocate making these fireworks legal, which does not address the damage aspect of using these products in a heavily populated metro area. So, by extension, since narcotics such as cocaine and heroin are illegal, and a huge amount of crime can be directly associated with illegal drug use, we should make these drugs legal? Problem solved, right?

Keep advertising. I love the reminder. Anyone want to carpool to Evanston?

Willie

Dave- Care to post your license plate number here? It would make it even more exciting.

Roscoe:

You make the drugs comparison as though you're making fun with an obviously false example, but a lot of experts actually believe that legalizing drugs would cut down on other crime rates.

If anything, you're just proving In The City's point.
