I love to listen to Br Glenn and his inspiring words. (some somewhat worldly
from his NY radio/TV environment)
He ocassionally mentions his personal LDS experiences, baptisms, sacrament, etc.
And, his open gratitude for it saving his life from alcoholism and drugs shows his humility and contrition.
His FOX News tribute to President Hinckley was very touching and sincere.
Google 'Glenn' to listen, and YouTube too for interviews and the tribute.
Let's all prepare for the end of the world as we know it.

Glenn Beck is correct, it's who we are, we will survive the four years of
either presidental candidate, being they are both so similar.
Then maybe a new icon will appear, who may bring us back to the sense of direction of our founding fathers. Great country who has stumbled and fell.

It's hard to find a humble celebrity, but Glenn is trying to keep moving in
that direction. I've read some of his literature and heard his testimony,
and he's sincere. He doesn't have all the answers, but I am glad that
he and others like him are reminding us of why we need to stand up keep
pioneering in our own time. America's new frontier is no longer the wild
west, but the immorality, rationalization, and selfishness all around us.

Beck is correct. In American, when we have depended on the government or looked
outside of the "people" for the answer, we have become a little more
weak, a little less potent, and a little more enslaved.
The greatest part of America is the chance, the risk, the guts it takes for individual Americans to make decisions and develop themselves in a way that will address problems and prepare us for future success. I've never known a President, a government, nor a "program" that has done more than what the "collective good" or the "cumulative hard work of individuals" in making this country what it should be. I am going to do as Beck advises and look inward for answers and solutions rather than politicians or government or programs......

Ernest...your pessimistic comment is what our political leaders today want to
keep us right where they have us. Were the solutions of the Founding Fathers
considered practical or feasible? Great leaders have ideas that others tell
them can't be done and they set out and prove them wrong.
Just because you can't or won't...don't go telling others they shouldn't. You're wrong and you bring down others with your pessimism. Keep it to yourself. Instead, focus on whatever small thing you can do to be part of the solution and go out and do it. If it's just voting for the right people...do it. Every little bit helps. But don't bring others down!

How are the people not the answer? While I understand that it is not an easy
solution nor one that can happen overnight. I don't understand where you
think the answer lies if not in the people. I am not going to guess what your

commentary and apply that logic to the Pilgrims. They followed their promptings

I share the sentiment that the answers and solutions are found within you and

I believe, however, that the greatest impact we will have in shaping the destiny of this great nation is by being true to our faith, by rising up to the clarion call of Ezra Taft Benson when he said the WE must "help bear off the kingdom (of God on the earth)triumphantly."
Politically it's a bit stacked against us. Remember, we're dealing with 99% of our senators, congressmen and media outlets who refuse to question how kerosene-like jet fuel can destroy THREE sky-scrapers. Every woodburning stove, barbeque grill and pot and pan that doesn't melt under constant heat is being ignored!
May God bless this great nation, and may being true to our faith help us in these exciting times.

Due to the entirely unjustified lead up to war with Iran, I find Beck's
bombast even more hard to take than usual. Oh, and by the way, this also
confirms the Freedomfest is a Republoan Party event. Enjoy, Republicans, but

The problem with Glenn Beck is that he substitutes emotional and simplistic
demagoguery for hard thinking analysis.
Study American history; read the Federalist Papers; and consider the various arguments regarding religion, society, and government as found in the Records of the Federal Convention, just as a start, then wrestle with the conundrums that the Founders of our republic faced.
Life's choices are not so easily resolved by a few sensational diatribes from a TV personality. Thinking is hard work. I feel for BYU, my alma mater, when entertainment takes the place of academic instruction.

sbeck, I attended the event and must have missed the many tables selling
Glenn's book. I didn't see any tables selling anything with Glenn
Beck logos on them. So what now? Is he still a sham in your mind? Have you
ever listened to the man? Hmm begs to wonder if you have ever even heard of him
from this article. Anyone who listens to Glenn or watches his TV show would
know that Glenn is far from being a sham. He is an the most honest, down to

The liberals are all gloom and doom. The people are too stupid to figure out anything. We must look to the government to solve all of our problems. And the problems are really too complex for the people, but we will never offer any real solutions ourselves because then we will be held accountable for our actions, or inaction, and be booted from office and we can't lose power no matter what! We talk a good game, we shoot the messenger instead of dealing with the message and life will just continue to go on as it is today.
Conservatives believe in the people and that people, when given the opportunity, will do the right thing and cause good to happen. Solutions are always introduced but routinely shot down by the left wackos. God is integral in the establishment of this nation. Just look at the history and how do you think the USA surpassed all the "ancient" countries so quickly and by so far? The people are the doers, not the government!

Lew Jeppson, Maybe you could move to France. I am sure they will stay out of
it. I volunteered to join the army and served over in Kuwait. If my children
make the choice to serve our country and protect your right to say what you
believe, I say more power to them. This is still a volunteer military. I
would be proud of them for chosing to serve. Would I be sad if they had to give
their life? Yes but I would, but I know that I will see them again and if they
go It was their time to go. Just as if I were to be struck by a car or be shot
by a mad man who decided to shoot up a safe zone (free unarmed victim zone). If
it is their time to go nothing will stop them from returning home to our
Heavenly Father! One of my favorite quotes that I keep forgetting is, "Be
still and know that I am god." This goes along together with "All is
well."

My son IS heading to the Middle East, Iraq, for certain. The only thing that
bothers me about his going is the fact that he is defending your rights, as well
as "Anonymous," "Ernest T. Bass," and others like you. . .
who don't seem to appreciate his sacrifice. It also irritates me to know
that he is protecting the likes of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Paul Bremer,
Meaghan O'Sullivan, and others. These people aren't worthy of the
protection of our Armed Forces. I guess that is what makes their sacrifice so

not bush apologists. You just assume that because he is conservative that he is
one. He is critical of anyone who makes a stupid illogical laws or bills. He
is conservative not republican. As am I. If the Democrat (socialists) would
get their heads out of the sand and actually listen to "we the
people," they would get it. We do want change but we have had their change
before and bigger government, higher taxes, more government spending, and more
government programs do not work. To quote the great Charmin TP, "less is

The Beckster is correct again. The chief problems we have experienced in the
past 7 1/2 years are due to Mr. Bush's lapses toward liberalism (refusing
to defend our immigration laws, expanding government, spending out of control)
as well as the Congress's failure to curb spending and keep government out
of the free market. We desperately need a return to true principles, and the
most important principle in our republican democracy is the power, rights and
privileges of the individual citizens that make up our great country. As Tim
Russert said, "What a country!"

Disagreeing with the choice to go to war doesn't mean people aren't thankful for our military. The criticism is never about them. Senator Obama (and Hilary Clinton for that matter) have never had anything but praise for our troops. Please don't tear others down just because they disagree with government policies. Those brave troops are doing their part to help us maintain such vital freedoms that truly set this nation apart. I do give my sincerest best wishes and thanks for your son's service and my prayer is that he will be safe and sound.
