Gee, I just get back from a nice forth of july evening and decide to read some posts, and all i see are a lot of angry Mormons accusing everyone of being anti Christ for voicing their opinions on polygamy. I thought the LDS church said they didn't believe in polygamy any longer? At least President Hinckley made such a statement..did he not?

Good evening folks,
You people who support polygamy need to leave the LDS church. Your beliefs are no longer welcome. You are trouble makers and need to find somewhere else to practice your polygamy vices. No one care to listen to you men who cry because you cannot have more than one girl toy.

The Church never said they don't believe in polygamy.

They do say they do no longer practice it, and haven't for over a hundred years.

And no living member of the church is allowed to be married to more than one living person.

Or they will face punishment from the chuch, which I believe for this case, is excommunication.

But they certainly still belive in polygamy.

Sara Anne -- You say you are not active because you are like Martin Luther. I'm sorry, but Martin Luther was very active in the Catholic religion. I would like to suggest two Christian books to you that are not by LDS authors: The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. From these you will learn that one cannot be any kind of Christian and be lukewarm. I was a very active participating Lutheran until I became a very active participating Latter-day Saint. After you understand that the commitment to Christ takes all -- and you make this commitment, then you are ready to approach God with the question as to whether He and his Son spoke with and taught Joseph Smith in the grove. One can never get answers from God about to life's important questions without total commitment. As Christ says, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I [Christ] speak of myself." There are no shortcuts in this. For you, being LDS and having entered that covenant, you must first totally keep those covenants. Then the miracle will follow.

One person early on in these comments asked what an anti Mormon was... I think that reading most of these comments are a very good example of what an anti-Mormon is. People who get a big charge out of putting down, badmouthing the beliefs that other people deam sacrad!!! My parents were converts to the church so I don't have pioneer stock to read their journals - but I do have the promptings of the Holy Ghost who helps me find the truth. I believe that Joseph Smith was a PROPHET of GOD!!!!
I do not belief that God would have kept him in that place if he was doing something against HIS will. For all you ACTIVE Mormons who are so good at bad mouthing the propets please read Acts 3:21 and many others and look up in a dictonary what "Restoration" and "all" means. The Prophets speak for God!!! when badmouthing them you are really badmouthing HIM!

Jan,

I agree with you completely that an "anti-" is someone who "get a big charge" (feel the Spirit) "out of putting down, badmouthing the beliefs that other people deem sacred" (like Mormon missionaries preaching the Apostasy to members of all other religions).

So by your argument, Mormon Missionaries are the biggest ANTI-RELIGION people on the face of the planet!

Way to go, Mormons!

What is real? is exactly right. You have to make those covenants BEFORE you get to know if any of it is real. Then you have to KEEP those covenants for a LIFETIME, and even then, you have to KEEP them AFTER you have died FOR ETERNITY before God will actually provide a miracle to confirm your faith. If you are not willing to do that, then you do not have enough faith to be worthy of the amazing miracles that all us other righteous people have had!

Get on board, slacker! You have a lot of catching up to do!

I was a missionary and I NEVER put down another religion! I told them what the Bible taught. If they did not want to here it they had that option and it was stopped. I also have a question for all those Mormons who are so angry about men who are married and sealed to another woman after their other wife died. You are all looking at the man, but what about the 2nd wife who also loves her husband. Is she to be denied a husband for eternity because is a 2nd wife? Does that seem loving to her? And, all those who think that all these men were just sex perverts-- think of all the teenagers, and terrible twos and wifes that had PMS and the expense that it took to support these FAMILIES he had. How many men really would LIKE to put themselves in that situation? The Lord will judge- if a woman does not want to live with a man in eternity she will not have to, but if a woman is a 2nd or 3rd then she will have the right to continue. TO BE CONTINUED

What about all the familes that this praticed this sence the beginning... are they to be denied their right to be eternal families because some people are up in arms about it today ? Leave this in God's hand to determine. He will do what is best for all his children.
