Someone is trying to make money off the FLDS. lol. Well, the marketing had to start somewhere. They've been in the national spotlight for months, now.

I cringe every time I look at the women of that sect from their hair to the dress. They have no awareness of how oppressed they come across, especially in their uneducated and monotonous speech. I find the clothing they have to wear androgynous and terribly plain. You can be modest without looking like a table cloth. But can they wear something else equally modest? Are they even allowed to wear pants? Haven't seen it.

Their lack of choices and freedom is made manifest by the way they dress. A bunch of sheep, man.
Kudos to FLDS | 11:05 a.m. June 28, 2008
Ordered clothes, can't wait to get them for my girls. By golly if they have the guts and where-with-all to make some money and work this hard to do what they feel is right, then I am going to support them on it. At least they are not begging you for money.

Just so you know the mother's of the flds are the ones behind this website! So unless you wanna be a sugarmomma all of your life, you should lend some support and credit where its due.

I think these clothes are BEAUTIFUL and yes modest. A lot of us in conservative Christian circles believe in modest dresses. Me and my daughters have clothing made by Amish friends and Mennonite friends and now are getting some of these beautiful dresses as well! Modesty crosses all religious lines.
SWEET Halloween Costumes! | 9:02 p.m. June 28, 2008
My friends want to dress up as polygamist wives for Halloween. Wish they had some adult sizes!

The clothes look really nice and the prices are really reasonable for handmade clothes. The quality in the FLDS clothes is much better than what we on the outside wear today. The long underwear is less expensive than what you find in a store and everyone has use for long underwear. The girls dresses would be great for weddings. Congratulations to the FLDS for setting up this web site.

The FLDS might like to check out on the Internet how the PA Dutch (Amish) promote themselves. They have tours, restaurants, markets, bed and breakfasts and inns. The sell homemade items like pretzels, jams, sauces, etc. Lots of people tour PA Dutch country. Perhaps some of these ideas would work for the FLDS. It might help to establish some public relations.
Need to sell organic food | 11:18 p.m. June 28, 2008
I heard that they only grow organic food and diary. That would sell really well.

I think they could make really nice custom wedding dresses - not sure if this would be against their region.

"gal50", OK, who are you and what have you done with gal50?

This is a refreshing spin on the FLDS. Hope this is not tongue-in-cheek (excuse the expression) belittling of the FLDS. I find them refreshingly genuine and sincere. I may not agree with all of their teachings and beliefs but, then, I don't have to in order to admire them. I wish this endeavor all the success it deserves.

It would be kinda supportive if a few thousand people bought FLDS dresses and marched on the Texas capital.
How about the men getting together and show up for an old fashioned "barn raising" to restore the Governors mansion. Those FLDS guys could fix the place in a week with their construction skills while the women march.
Maybe even a gigantic prayer service.......Texas desecrates their church.....they fix the mansion while supporters help and dress the part.......

right, zxcvbnm - and they could put hoods over the children's heads so they aren't "corrupted" by the outside world, and have "guardians" march with the women to ensure no of them escape.

sounds like a plan, except they will all be too busy sewing in a sweatshop with no time to go marching.

I wouldn't buy any of these clothes simply because the money goes to the FLDS leaders for parceling out, and some chunk will probably fall into the Warren Jeffs defense fund. The women sewing them will get minimum wage at best. (plus they're so ugly that only those that live in isolation could wear them.)

I'm amused by the ratio of supporters here, when 100 papers have reported on these clothes and the comments sections in those has 200 negative to one positive comment. So America disagrees with you supporters. But that's what makes this country great. As long as you don't break laws (and even if you do), you are free to deny repress your followers in the name of religion, even if it's unpopular.

I will definitly be buying a dress and an overall each. I also like zxcvbnm's plan to march on the capitol and help with building, if I had any way to be there I would however being in Arizona I'm nut sure I could get there to do it. I will be helping any way I can, I also dress modestly and have been very concerned because the same kind of ridicule has come my way for dressing modestly, I wear Amish and Mennonite dresses predominently but would love to have an adult dress if they end up making them as well.

The mass media had already concocted a well scripted demonization of the FDLS before the raid.
I'm not an FDLS. These women have shown much grace under fire. I hope they make money for themselves.

In other news: The pregnant man had her/his baby: a little girl.
Some satan worshippers were arrested in a state on the southeast coast. *sigh

I live among Amish and Mennonites who dress in a like manner. It is refreshing to go to public places and see this beautiful "plain" dress...instead of short shorts and other clothing that appears vulgar on some people. Many of us non-amish/mennonite women adopt this dress for certain occasions. It is refreshing to see women drssed age appropriately and still looking very much like women.
Years ago modesty was esteemed, women dressed appropriately out in public...

I wear modest dress, and live in Utah(Not with any group) I have friends that are Amish and Mennonite. Most plain clothing will not be beautiful according to the worlds standards of modesty. But these clothes are beautiful to the ones that are led by the spirit. These FLDS women have stood up for what they believe in, as did Waco, Ruby ridge, and Yahwehs house. We must all stand for what we believe in one day. when will the harrassment end?Kathryn

The last thing on earth I would ever want to look like is some darn polygamists' wife. EWWWWWWWW! Those dresses look too smelly to me. I'd say, Sell them to DI or something for rag cloth. They would make nice rag rugs for someones laundry room.
