Last time I checked, treating a vaginal infection is not in the scope of practice of a chiropractor. This guy should at the very least lose his liscence to practice.

If I have a vaginal infection I wouldn't seek help from a chiropractor, I'd apply gel myself as would most of my friends. This doesn't sound like particularly sound behaviour irrespective of this man's guilt or innocence. Sounds like a wrong port of call! I'd think twice about allowing a male doctor to apply anything come to think... Bad enough having swabs or smears taken of necessity but applying gel????

Any male medical practitioner working with the opposite sex is a fool if he does not have a woman assistant in the room with him who can observe everything he does and be a witness against those females out for a nice legal settlement. That this individual did not after all the previous problems tells me he is most likely guilty.

I have a hard time understanding why a woman would would ask such a thing of a chiropractor. Even more so, why the guy would actually do it. That is like asking a construction worker to give you a prostate exam and him agreeing to. WHAT THE HECK? Most people would just say "Dude,you're asking the wrong guy for that sort of thing!"

Hildreth was convicted of felony sexual assault against a minor in Montanta in 1992. Accused of sexual assault against a minor in Louisiana in 2000 but skipped town. Convicted on two counts of sexual assault in Utah in 2008. Going on trial for two more counts of sexual assualt in September. Has one additional count pending from a "young girl involved in athletics" (Herald Extra 6/27)... Yet there are still those who defend this sick person or try to dismiss his criminal actions because of the victim's choices. Get some perspective.

What type of woman asks a chiropractor to apply gel to her vaginal area? Were her arms too Circuslike short to do it herself? Why didn't she go to a real doctor? Why would a chiropractor dispense vaginal cream anyway? WEIRD!

One of many things things that bother me about these comments is how quickly this Salt Lake Culture is to judge others and stereotype entire groups of people. Yes some chiropractors are quacks but most are legit (and don't try to treat vaginal ailments). People-take the plank out of your own eye before judging the sliver in your neighbors!

This chiropractor new exactly what he was doing and took advantage of this Young girl, She had a vaginal health issue when she was there being treated in his office for chiropractic services. He, The doctor probably ask her is she had any other health issues, and she confided in him, and he instantly told her he had some antibiotic cream that would take care of her problem. She being kind of stupid, yet trusting to a Doctor, none the less, put her faith in him as a doctor, and let him smear the cream on her virginal area. Thatï¿½s all it took.

Many of the comments above implicate the alleged victim for stupidity, as well as the chiropractor.

Yes, the chiropractor should have been on guard, Judge Mortenson is correct about that. As long as we are not imposing a higher standard on him now, simply because he was previously accused, then I am fine. But given how short sighted we human beings are, let me ask this question: If there is ever a case (and occasionally there is) in which someone is accused multiple times for something and he/she is innocent each time, are we as a society capable of recognizing it? Are we as a soceity capable of avoiding the temptation to convict somebody in ambiguous circumstances (where neither side is completely clear) simply because one is accused multiple times?

We have come a long way since the Salem witch trials, and I am not saying Dr. Hildretch is innocent. What I am saying is, I am not on the jury, I do not sit on the court of appeals, and I am not in a position to judge. Are you? Do multiple accusation ALWAYS equal guilt? Are we capable of recognizing innocence in a difficult case? Are we?

This is a bad idea all around. Patient, doctor, wife. Woman wants a little attention, asks doctor for help. Doctor wants a little attention, agrees to help. Woman tells friend about the helping hand. Friend says by jove, you've got a great law suit there.

A little attention and a big settlement to boot. Woman wins.

I agree with all of the comments about the woman needing some psychiatric help also. I would be SO embarrassed to tell anyone that I asked a chiropractor for anything BUT an adjustment. She's clearly lacking in morals also.

Sometimes, what starts out as just plain "dumb" winds up being "criminal".

I too would have to agree that both the accused and the accuser are out in left field. Both have their heads screwed on backwards.

Both are in need of help and they both need to go to jail and get professional help.

And of course...a man examining a woman in any way...should cover his hiney and have a nurse in there with him...what about that do people not get...especially so called doctors?

And yes..the wife is in denial...all these accusations over the years...huge problems...BIG!!!

The unfortunate thing with this Chiropractor's actions is that it makes it look bad for all the honest and good Chiropractors. He needs some serious help and I hope they withdraw his license and through this consequence he will learn that you play, you pay. Look what is happening to our beautiful world with all these sick people running around doing what gives them a charge and forgetting what it does to innocent human beings. He is not innocent by what I read and he should not be allowed to practice anymore in any field. He can't be trusted. Why do they think they can get away with it? Hopefully this time, he will not.

Chiropractic is a complete scam. Manipulation of the spine and neck does more damage than good. The entire dicipline is based on one person's erroneous hunch. I wish chiropractors had the integrity to realize that they are scamming people and get out of the business.

The state of California allows Chiropractor's to do vaginal exams (like the GYN). WHY? I don't know. However, there are several Chiropractic schools that have this as part of their curriculum so their graduates are eligible to be certified in all U.S. states. A friend of mine is a chiropractor and went to the Palmer school in Iowa. I about fell on the floor when he told me. It does seem odd, but if this guy went to one of the schools, he was "qualified" at least.

The best part of this was the judges comment when he told the guy - "based on your history, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON GUARD"...I mean DUH - *that* is the most damaging to his case.

Trust me, chiropractics are no scam. I reached a point after a back injury where I could no longer walk in a manner I could see continuing life thus limited. My last hope before taking that drastic step, was to give this quackery a chance. I felt that lower vertabre move as chiropracter did some action, and when I stood up, I was like the man God gave sight back. I had to control myself to keep from making an idiot of myself in his office. Twenty some years later, the same movement out, of that vertabrae, puts me in same critical state, and in same manner when it is moved back in place, I am able to continue in life again. And that is that!
And I more than any other, I always consider any such treatments like herbs, etc, as quakery, and find it almost impossible to even consider such to be feasible. But of this one thing I am sure, when that vertabrae or disk, or whatever there moves or is pinched, it can be, maybe not in all cases / for all, moved back in place by some there skill they learn or practice

He accepts no responsibility for anything and his family is in complete denial. They don't "get it" because they dont want to. The truth is too painful. i am related to this man............he is very sick and there are no excuses. i am disgusted and ashamed to be related as is most of our family, i am sure his immediate family is in great denial as would anyone be in the beginning stages of a huge turn in there life about to happen. there are a lot of people out there like this now....i blame pornography, it's an addictions that leads to actions. anyone who even occaisionally looks at it is no better than this man and should not rationalize any different. i only hope that his children and wife will one day recover from all the pain and ruin this man has cursed them with. his parents are very good hard working people and it's a tradegy to our family to have him and others fall into this common trap these days.

to the anti chiropractors out there, you have absolutely no idea what you are commenting about. this guy should go away for a long time and is a threat to the public. as far as chiropractic goes, it is safe and very effective for neck pain, headaches, and low back pain. if JC and Jimmy dont want to use chiropractic that's their prerogative. they can rot their livers and kidney while becoming addicted to pain meds if it ever comes to that.
