Three Utah towns in the top 15? Obviously whoever did the research wasn't very informed.
First off 10% of all limited entry tags go to the conservation groups for them to sell and pad their pockets. That's hundreds each year.
Next, It takes a person 10-12 years to draw a limited entry elk tag while at the same time he can't put in for a LE deer tag. Then another 7-8 years to draw that LE deer tag and that means in 17-20 years you can draw one LE deer and one LE elk.
Even general deer season isn't guaranteed and I know several guys that have only drawn a general tag once in three years.
When it comes to stuff other than big game there are close to zero pheasants left in Utah and unless all you want is to take the kids out to catch planters at a local lake the best fishing is only in a very few select areas of the state.
Utah one of the "best places to live" for hunting and fishing? I guess if you're wealthy and can buy a tag at auction every year, sure, why not have us on the list!
