Exactly what was the nature of the disagreement with the orange juice? Was it being impertinent, argumentative, or perhaps behaving in an irrational and threatening manner? If Plaisted doesn't get drafted I'm going to tell our coach, Jim "the Screamin' Demon" Boylen, to recruit him for next year. He'd fit in real nice with all our other 4 and 5 star recruits to help our beloved U of U win another NBA championship.

Harmon's point is that he's so weak he couldn't finish a workout. Read between the lines. I loved Alma the Wiser's comment. Love it! He'll make a summer camp and be cut and go play in Europe. Except he didn't go on a mission so I don't know where he'll play...

So the guy shows up at a workout and is full of excuses: "OJ did't agree", "altitude". This is a sign of things to come: "Defense doesn't agree with me nor does gravity"

He is not NBA Material, Should stick around for another year so the zewbies can be happy and then he should try out for the European D-Leauge.

Notice what Perrin said about JC as compared to Trent Plaisted! Perrin said JC is such a marvelous athelete, they were surprised by his athletiscm!

Trent-

Rumors were that you were going in the First Round to the Nuggets, but since the altitude there is high and multiple tattoos are required, you just blew it. But at least now I understand why you played like Mr. Roboto in Wyoming, CSU, Colo Sprgs, SLC, ABQ, and other Mountain West towns and why you played so well against UNC & Louisville in the lower elevations of Vegas...BYU's offensive was much more fluid without you anyways and the line in Vegas on the chances of the ball going over the backboard or breaking it on a 3 foot jump shot have returned to college basketball levels of normalcy.

didn't he play in Utah? I know he worked out in Cali, but it hasn't been that long! It shouldn't be that hard to readjust, but I've never dealt with rapid altitude changes. Nothin beats cali orange juice either. Ha.

Wow there are a lot of Plaisted haters out there. I think that the only reational reason for him leaving for Europe (because he won't make it in the league) is because he realized that BYU is what all of us have always know it to be. Self righteous, hypocritical way of life. And just to show I am not just a cougar hater, Trent can call Britton and ask about the life he will soon be living.

What is he thinking drinking OJ before a strenuous workout? OJ has citric acid which can really work over your stomach, especially before physical exercise.

Anyway, good luck to Mr. Plaisted in his career in the Russian league...

Actually, I'm quite relieved as a Cougar fan that Plaisted left BYU. He just wasn't that good. Didn't know how to perform in the clutch. I'm serious. I'm just really grateful he left. I view his whole effort to land on and NBA team with strict neutrality. Whatever he does, he does. NBA, Europe, selling real estate. Whatever. I'm just glad BYU can not move on without him.

to Haters:
It is said that when we look at others to pass judgment, we see only a mirror that reveals our own weaknesses. In my experience, that is very true: there is no more fanatical a critic than one who closely resembles the target of his criticism. Your opinion that all of BYU is guilty of a "self righteous, hypocritical way of life" must be taken as the reflection you see of yourself when you look at BYU, and it could not be more self-righteous or hateful. Trent may not be the greatest basketball player who ever lived, but, how does Trent's basketball prowess define the traits of thousands of BYU people, or show anything at all about "BYU", the University? BYU and U of U are both great schools. It is not necessary at all for either school to "hate" the other, in order to have a strong, fun rivalry. For example, look at the end of the football game in 2007, when the BYU and U of U stars walked off the field together, each clearly respectful of the other's performance. Now that's the way to do it..

But at a lower altitude.

Don't college and professional teams come up here to Utah and play... and finish at this higher altitude?

He came to show his skills, and the only skill he showed was his ability to make excuses.

I don't think he will be drafted. However...

What if we are all wrong? Say he has a ten year career as the 12th man, playing for the minimum, averaging 5 min./2 pts./ 2 rebounds.

Could he be any worse than what is currently the 12th man for any current NBA squads?

Wait a minute, maybe he is destined for Europe or life without basketball.

What is the big deal? Trent will be drafted in the second round and not by the jazz. He'll go to the Eastern Conference where they are under the influence of the Louisville and Michigan St. games. He won't play very much but he'll get payed well. Who can blame him? My prediction is that he gets drafted by the 76rs and gets injured. I hope he does well and gets drafted by a good team.

As a sometimes visitor to Utah from sea level, let me tell you, the first day or so at least are often miserable, and physical exertion is difficult because it is harder to breathe. Sickness after eating is often a result and not un-common, especially coupled with hard running, climbing, etc. Even walking uphill or stairs is not easy! Conversely, family who visit from Utah, find the extra oxygen at sea-level, wears them out!

Harmon is just copying what every BYU fan does - shoulda, coulda woulda.... "Trent is not working out well due to orange juice and altitude". Harmon could never state the obvious - that Trent is a horrible basketball player without athletic skills. Its the same old tune you hear from all other BYU atheletes, games. When BYU loses - its always the refs fault, etc.

Wow! I'm a BYU guy all the way...

And so I'm dissapointed to hear Trent whining about altitude... Sounds like an excuse as to why he isn't performing up to his true potential... Oh wait, that's been the majority of the last couple of years for the Cougars.

He could have been so dominant! He should have been the MWC player of the year, and had some great national recognition. Instead, he was content to be mediocre. I'm not sure if it is his work ethic or what, because at times he showed great potential. He's simply not a very smart player.

I'm sure he will be given a chance in the NBA, but unfortunately, I think this will be the same story. Could have, would have, should have!

Trent left BYU because he didn't like the constant pressure of having to perform against that Aussie up north. Problem is that Aussie is really horrible, and Trent will have tougher competition in the NBA, where he won't be able to compete....

I tell you this, the only reason the jazz were working out roy hibbert again, was to make sure that jason thompson was the man. So that they can sleep at night. knowing what they have decided on, will make the difference right away. Now with okur and thompson, boozer and millsap. Any of your morons who think Plaisted will be a bona-fide NBA player need to look at your history book to the last so-called highly regarded big to come out of the Y. Yes, our old friend Rafael I-didn't-earn-the-money-o. I think everyone could agree he had a much better college career than Plaisted and look where he's at.

I'll be REALLY disappointed in Kevin and Jerry if they take this large piece of meat with one of their 2nd round picks as some mock drafts indicate. Geez, it would be better trading the pick to Milwaukee for some cheese or to New Jersey for some toxic chemicals than getting Plaisted.

I sure 2 weeks of intense work outs is going to eventually wear on your body. If he drank OJ with nothing else it would probably sit funny in your stomach. Trent will probably go somewhere that has depth at the 4 and 5 positions giving him a chance to develop. He'll be dangerous if he gets a jump shot.

Trent is getting his "come uppins"...Personally the day he walked onto the BYU Court he acted like a girly DIVA. He was always to good to hang out with the team much less play like a member of a team. He was so full of himself that his ego was too big for the room he was in. He's an over hyped excuse making, baby...not to mention he took the place of players that deserved to be there and were not developed after serving missions. He came to BYU as a key player for himself. He was like that in San Antonio too. His reputation has always been one that had no room for anyone but himself. Good LucK! GO Cougs!
