Jimmy is worried that they only have 3 bigs, and none that are particularly well known for their defense. Jimmy thinks they should have added Tyson Chandler instead of Tayshaun Prince.

So these two find out more than a week ago (per story) that they've made the team, and Carlos can't arrange to be in Salt Lake with Williams for a press conference--a week later? And then he can't make it to a teleconference from his Miami place?

Dude, not like you were selected for summer squad ball camp here, it's the Olys.

Too bad the US Olympic team is not made up exclusively of college players. Just because other nations pay their athletes (above or under the table) doesn't mean that the US cannot hold to the amateur traditions of the Games.

Why no Celtics???? Very few of these chosen are "team" players. This is going to be a disaster. Hopefully Carlos plays better for USA than he did for the Jazz.

the writing is on the wall with Boozer, we should trade him before everyone else realizes he isn't a first option player. There are 4 or 5 guys who could add what he added to the Jazz and wouldn't do any worse than he did in the playoffs. I've never seen anyone so afraid of getting his shot blocked and it's like all of his great footwork and abilities disappear when he faces a tough opponent. Come on Jazz, we all know we can't win a title with Boozer as our top offensive option.
Why he made the Olympic team I'll never understand, but at least we should deal him while the perception of him is strong leaguewide.

Why did Carmello make the team? He does not deserve it. If the Denver Nuggets suspended him, then he definately should not be representing the U.S. in the Olympics.
How would Boozer not get picked? Remember Booz played at Duke for Coach K.

Non-believer - There are no "team players". Have you ever actually watched Jason Kidd, Deron Williams, or Chris Paul. Tayshaun Prince, Dwight Howard, and Chris Bosh are all excellent "team players".
In regards to the no Celtics, Kevin Garnett didn't want to make the 3 summer commitment, and Paul Pierce declined to participate.

Dave - Carlos made the team because he was willing to do the dirty work, like digging out rebounds, going for lose balls, not having to be the main scorer, etc., that some others aren't more inclined to do. He's also a much more physical player, which is extremely important in the international game. Lastly, I think he has demonstrated that he has the intelligence to work within the offense. Now the fact that he played for Coach K didn't hurt at all.

Especially with Argentina maybe without Ginobli, I think this team will do much better than many are predicting. There are so strong bigs on this team, but like was found out last time, you can't contribute if your on the bench with fouls.

Agree with "Dave". Jazz need to inquire of Miami about trading Boozer to Miami for the #2 pick, then drafting Beasley from K. State. He is going to be a scoring phenom...and will play defense as hard as Boozer. Buy low, sell high.....time to sell while the stock is high!!

6'8" power forward (Beasley). Beasley doesn't have the work ethic or attitude to play under Sloan. And the last thing the Jazz need is another rookie.

Trading Booz for an upstart Beasley is just a great risk that GM miller didn't even think about it.
I know Beasley is all good(they say).but he has to prove himself that he could also play with the Big Boys.
just like Lebron straight out of highschool and last years rook Kevin Durant.

kevin garnett should have made the commitment. He is twice the player that boozer is. Although team USA would kill the celtics.
