If money is so tight, why did they send 11 people to San Diego to view a building project? Cant two or threea people take pictures and report back?

Misleading headline.

$8 a month doesn't raise my taxes by 200%. Only the city part of the property tax which is minimal anyway.

Sensationalism at its best.

An amazingly ignorant comment (but not a surprise having dealt with Applegarth). Of course it is an expenditure problem. Instead of raising taxes Riverton should cut spending. Having funded city operations on volatile revenues (and possibly impact fees) the excuse to raise taxes is just an admission of Riverton's budget mismanagement.

I agree, the headline is misleading/sensational. Yes, they may raise this line-item on the property tax 200%, but the bulk of the city charges are on the Unified Fire Authority line-item.
