Those water company employees are heros who saved two lives at risk of their own. The parents of the boys owe them more than they can ever repay. I hope the water company boss or the community recognize the them for the good they did.

I know the BSA has a national lifesaving medal for scouts and leaders. Does the US Govt. have one ?

If these employees get the positive publicity they deserve, it might also keep some other daredevil kids out of the canal, and perhaps save some more lives.

Ryans Aunt

Bob, Ryan was taken off of life support Friday at 12:45 P.M. and passed away at 12:50 P.M. and we as a family do very much appreciate what the water company employees did more than you even realize! It wasn't that they were daredevil kids people have swam in those canals for ever! I don't think the boys realized that the spot they were swimming in, fed into a drainage canal. It also enters into Steineker Reservoir at some point through there!

Gene

I'm so sorry about Ryan and my prayers are with the family. My grandson had a near drowning incident in 2002 and is severely handicapp. I started the Hugs Foundation For Near Drowning Children to help families of near drowning children. It is so very sad when a child has an accident. It effects everyone for a long time. I hope that people keep their dumb comments to themselves, because the family lives with the accident for eternity. If anyone needs support go to hugs4ndc.com. and we will help them as much as we can.
May God Bless
