That was a must win. Jason prefers not to look at the points cause he would hate to see how bad Real has been under his stewardship. Come one. The quakes couldn't shake off Bountiful High's team. Being unable to capitalize on a man down for more than half the game? That is a major blunder. The only good thing about the game was we didn't let them squeeze in a goal in the last 10 minutes. See, we must be improving. We sucked the whole game, not the last minute. The Rev is going to destroy us on Saturday. I pray for a lightning storm. Maybe by October we will be able to take on a real team like New England.

First of all... Robert you are an idiot.

Now onto important things. I can't believe that Jason ever said that they do not want to focus on points! That is what sports are about!!! To end up tied at home, to an expansion team is ludicrous! To do that when they are a man down is outright stupidity, and laziness on the part of the players, and the coaching staff.

If we had even a few ties on the road, and won a game as obvious as that we would be first in the western conference. Jason Kries is not cutting it as head coach.

We have to bring in someone who can finish. We had 20 shots last night. 4 were on goal! That is simply revoltingly sad.

I think it's funny that when Real wins it is suddenly assumed that we will win out the rest of the way, and that when we tie (or lose) that the team is so terrible that they couldn't even beat a high school team, and don't deserve a new stadium. I'm sure that New England was a little disappointed that they had to come from behind to tie a terrible Red Bull team at home last night also.
Some nights are like that in soccer. Sometimes the ball just won't go in the net. I'm sure these guys will come out Saturday and give it their best shot against New England on Saturday. Hopefully we get a good result. Lets get out there and cheer them on.

Do you people not remember how bad we were under Ellinger. Kreis has built a strong team that is very organized and can compete and beat any team in this league. With Ellinger we only won games if our team ran 10 miles more than the other team and if we got a fluke goal.

Our team is good. They are confident and play well as a team. Kreis is doing a very good job. He has built a hard nosed hard working disciplined team. Do you not remember how we used to get scored on in the first 20 minutes of every game, now we are the only team in the league not to be scored on in the first 30 minutes, that is a huge improvement.

Relax. We can't win every game. We had a goal taken away and we hit the pole. Sure there were some very good chances that should have been at least put on goal, but that is no reason to call for a coaching change.

The only really big thing that I would like to see is a little more URGENCY to get a goal the last 30 minutes or so.

I was very disappointed in the result, but what drove me nuts was that RSL didn't push more men forward with the advantage most of the game. That is bad coaching. I like Kries, but he needs to quit playing for the tie and hope they get a goal by chance. I will be at the game on saturday, so hopefully RSL acts like they want to be on the field.

RSL can't even score. That is why soccer is boring. How boring to have a game with no scoring and having it end in a tie. Ties stink. Do overtime or penalty kicks.

I question some of the subs Kreis made. Why pull out a veteran like Deuchar and put in someone with no experience like Tino? I can see making that change if Kenny were injured.
Also, its probably good that we tied, it will make us come out wanting it more on saturday when we really need it.

I made comments last week on how non-exciting soccer is, and people jumped down my throat. Supposedly last night was a must win, and all this build up then. . . a tie, how typical. Soccer sucks, get over it people. Soccer should not be called a sport until they always have a winner and a looser, get rid of the freakin ties people! I love hockey now that there is no ties, much more exciting with the shoot outs. I used to go to almost every real game the first couple of years then i realized, why am i paying 20 dollars a ticket to watch a tie!! Whatever, great job people for building a nice stadium for this non sense.

Utefan why do you watch the game if you think it's boring. Go watch reruns of BYU beating Utah in football instead. I think Real needs to do the same thing they had 24 shots i think and it is hard to score. Real get to the playoffs this year come on.

This team and its management are why professional soccer is such a disappointment. The team started with lots of shallow promises, but with barely enough money to field enough players. It got public financing based on promises that its management knew they could never keep. That management has squandered what money they did have in order to get quick headlines (take the Freddie "acquisition", for example). Management still can't attract enough investors to field decent players and coaches, and all the while they keep making promises that things will get better. The only -- the only -- way any kind of business could get away with this is to fool people like the clowns on this blog who spout their opinions about what the team needs to do to win, as if a different coach would make any difference . I agree with Robert (above); this team isn't worth the tax money the state will put up for it. It's nothing but vapor and smoke.

espindola, sturgis, and (for last nights game at least) williams. Real has those 3 in the lineup and they are a lot better team.

Baseball: ... uh.... oh there is steroids
Football: inflated scoring, only two to three athletic players on the filed at a time, 8 seconds of play 2 minutes of planning
Basketball: only legit contender, but still too many stops and fouls called that disrupt the flow of the game
Soccer: non stop action (you have to understand it to get it) great atmosphere, 22 athletic and talented men on the field (save ejections), flow, creativity, flare, beauty.
Its not all about the goals, but i wouldnt expect you to understand that

I can't wait for Williams to get back from his national team. Maybe we should all become Jamaican National fans. At least they won there last two game by a total of 13 to 0.

Umm, no...tried that, (see NASL). This is a winning formula. And those that are patient can see that the successful plan is working pefectly.

I love soccer, but the one thing I don't like is the fake injuries in the sport. If a players is even touched they act like they broke a leg or something. It is part of the game, but still annoying. Other than that, I love it. RSL, you blew it last night. That's okay, you still have plenty of games left to redeem sour ties like that one. Let's get a win this weekend. Go RSL.

andrewut1 is obviously not an athlete and does not appreciate athletics. Soccer boasts the majority of the world's GREATEST athletes. I have played every sport that andrewut1 will ever play and soccer is my absolute favorite. I was all state track and all state football and I'm sure that andrewut1 wasn't. Let me tell you this andrewut1, you will see soccer become the most popular sport in the USA in your lifetime, unless you are an old fart like you sound.

The only thing more boring than soccer is just watching grass grow. And at least when the grass grows, you might have something to feed the cows. I don't want to watch any so-called sport that consistently ends it a tie. I will never, I mean NEVER!, pay a dime to watch a professional hockey game. I don't mind watching my grandkids play, but they're basically just doing it for exercise.

He knew what was going on, we weren't pushing forward, running at the defenders and creating space or making the defenders make decisions. Why then, as a coach, DIDN'T HE COMMUNICATE THAT TO THE PLAYERS ON THE FIELD DURING THE GAME? Why did he articulate it so well to the press afterward? Where's the accountability?

Re: RSL Man - injuries in soccer are annoying, I agree. I hope you watched the NBA finals though. The celtics had a career ending injury in each of the 6 games. Each time the player returned and ran full-speed the rest of the way (See Paul Pierce when he reacted like his leg just fell off). It's not just soccer where athletes sell fouls through acting.

If MLS wants more scoring perhaps they should get competent officials. Beckerman was 2 yards onside when the ball hit Findleys head. The man gaurding the corner kick just stood there 3 yards from the endline the entire time. When the ball hit Findley's head Beckerman was about 5 yards out running towards goal. The official just looked up say Beckerman was past everyone when he hit it in the goal. It's the kind of officiating you expect from a Rec soccer official, not a pro soccer official. Go back and watch the tape and freeze it the sec. the ball hits Findley. Then look at Beckerman and then look at the man out gaurding Morales. Not even close.

RSL should protest the game just so the league has to admit they blew the call. The side official should at least be called out for being an idiot.

All that being said: RSL stop kicking wild 30 yard shots. You can't put them on goal so knock it off! Through balls to our forwards seem to work best for us.

Do you not think that Jason communicated to the players to push up and attack... lets not forget that Jason was an attacking player, he knows what to do in those situations. The accountability needs to be held with the players. I get sick and tired of people blaming coaches when a team doesn't do something right. Ultimately that falls on the players, the coaches can only do so much on the sideline but if the players don't translate that on the field or on the court or whatever than its their fault. But I can promise you that Kries told his players to attack and push the ball forward. I think Jason has done a great job with the cards he has been handed, I think overall the team is doing good. They are in contention. By this time in every other season they would already be out of the playoffs and make a push at the end of the season. So if current trends hold true and real is in this great position that they are in now come end of the season they are going to be right there competing. I'm not worried at all right now.

I was in Houston last week to see the Revs down the Dynamos 2 - 0 without Twellman. Granted the Houston didn't have Ching or DeRosario on the pitch but the Revs were missing Twellman. More of an impact to Houston was the missing Onstad.

Reis versus Rimando is slightly in favor of Reis; I think Rimando is having a good year and continues to be the most consistent element to the success Real has had with the possible exception of Morales (who did not have a good game agains San Jose).

The Revs are solid and very explosive on the wings. They seem to give up a lot in the midfield but have a bend don't break back line that impressed me.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Williams is missed. Possesion led to nothing and I think Andy might have made a difference.

By the way, Beckerman was in an onside position when the corner kick was made, but the defense pulled and left in in an offside position as the b

If you look at Andy's all around game this year he has done a great job. Maybe in years past you could argue that he didn't work hard but not this year. He is one of the few stable players we currently have.

Interesting, RSL wins last week against Chivas and no one comments in the posts about RSL being a "waste of money" or how useless the stadium is. We get a 0-0 draw at home and all of a sudden "Soccer is Boring!" and "What a waste of taxpayers dollars!" again and "even my old high school is better than RSL". Man I think I will complain in the posts for the Jazz about public tax dollars being wasted every time they get beat by the Lakers in the playoffs or lose at home.
