KTVX Ch. 4 cuts back its work force by 15%

They have the Ross Overdrive automation that has allowed them to cut the studio staff and TDs.
KSL & KUTV have the same automation, so look for cuts at those stations.
Ya'll should have seen this coming. There are so many places to get your news now and it comes accurately and when you want it with no tacky local car salesman commercials.
Local TV news is old, tired, broken, inaccurate, boring and too light weight to continue to matter. All this in an environment with so many other places to get your info and your entertainment. I can get everything I need to know about the weather on my iPhone, and a lot better info on local news online.
I for one am not a big fan of any TV news but everybody knows CH4 is number 3 in a dying market. Sure, my parents will continue to fall asleep on the couch watching KSL TV news at 10pm, but the rest of us are just waiting for Leno.

Now there won't be as many staff to work on stories that tell us that the economy, especially the Utah economy, is doing just fine.
