Grand jury could consider FLDS case next week

That's going to be the hard part of the case. Of course they could always file charges and then drop the case.
I'm also wondering - if the families don't answer questions due to criminal charges can this be used to take the child away. What if they are not hiding underage sex, but simply hiding affairs.
The FLDS does a better job than the mafia when it comes to maintaining secrecy. It is very capable of exacting loyalty out of all of its members, including wronged members.
By doing this, suspected criminal behavior goes largely unpunished. The FLDS are able to live by their own rules rather than abide by the rules of the government. Time again, the government ignores the criminal aspects of the FLDS simply because it has no power to prosecute when victims are unwilling to testify. What has changed in this case is that Texas may have gathered enough circumstantial evidence to prosecute some crimes.
It would be interesting to know exactly how much criminal behavior is suspected versus how much is prosecutable. Perhaps 200 adults were participants in polygamous relationships. There were maybe 20 cases of statutory rape and 40 cases of failure to protect a child where offspring existed to prove the case and maybe five other cases of statutory rape documented by testimony or photographs. There appears to be about 275 potential cases.
Have you lost your memory? Read your comment to me last week. Do you remember mind police? How can you blanket 500+people? I can't connect your comment last week with this one. Are you OK?
the rumor mill again is in full force.
The 4 th amendment does not allow a witch hunt search warrant. I would guess that since the information about the circumstances surrounding the warrant were false that would put any and all evidence seized under question.
This case will gone on for years. The FLDS with a couple of exceptions have committed no crimes.
The group by nature intermarry and have young girls who may start having sex with anyone possible.
Yes teenage girls sometimes have sex, wow what a surprise. I guess it might be better to be married to someone who could support the family rather than
some ethnic group who abandons there own.
Why all this fuss over a group of people who practice there beliefs?
Why the thought to place hundreds of children in the abusive foster home system of Texas/
And why is Texas so set on destroying a peacefull
group of people who really want to be left alone.
Any supporters of the Texas actions please look in the mirror real hard and ask your self if it is right
to steal children without cause?
