Will he do the same as he does on his broadcasts -- spread hatred, fear, closed mindedness and paranoia? All at the same time as he's claiming to be "christian"?

Its really kind of sad when Glenn & Mitt Romney are the 2 most prolific members of the LDS faith.

I think it is great!! Glenn Beck makes sense. Good work Provo. I'll be attending...not just for Glenn Beck, but for the love of my country.

Don't the organizers of this event think that one can be patriotic without being a right-wing wacko?
If you love your Country.... | 3:51 p.m. June 18, 2008
....AND Glenn Beck, you'll go to Iraq yourself. Or send your children.
Wendy | 4:55 p.m. June 18, 2008
I love Glenn Beck!

Good choice... my thanks to the organizers. It will be a nice break from the "what's wrong with America" drumbeat from the presidential campaigns.

Why do we always have to have right wing, Republican guests? When will Utahns open their eyes, especially the LDS members? The Church is so identified with the GOP that many in America who don't attach themselves to the GOP are de facto excluded from the Church in practical terms. Oh, and Beck is as negative as the rest of the talking heads on TV and radio. He is no better, and being LDS doesn't make him so. Bring in Chris Matthews, who truly loves the country and is very familiar with Utah and the LDS Church. But wait, he isn't Republican, and the Festival is a Repubican only event.

GLENN BECK FOR PRESIDENT!
Darren | 11:41 p.m. June 19, 2008
Awesome! I'm excited for Beck to come... That is great that he accepted the invite... great pick. Glenn is a great guy!

Spectacular! I don't think the organizers could have found a better speaker to represent non-partisan patriotism, love of country, and love of fellow man. The fact that he, like me is committed to truth, being the kind of American the founding fathers were, and not a member of any political party makes me comfortable bringing my entire family to hear his remarks. He always finds a way to lift my spirit, remind me of my blessings and engender gratitude for this great country!
RE: Utah Boy | 12:29 p.m. June 27, 2008
Mr. Utah Boy:

The reason there are generally right wing republican guests at the Stadium of Fire is simple: popular left wing pundits or entertainers have a long history of making degrading remarks about this country, its history, its institutions, its liberty, and its position in the world. And you'll note I made no mention of the military - do I even need to mention that? This is about patriotism based on the founding of this country - and that means reverence for the constitution, the revolution (a war!), and LIBERTY as created for all of us by our founders and all who defend liberty since. Generally, the left of this country now define patiotism as: reverance or zeal for how this country should create new rights for its citizens not mentioned in the constitution, socialism (which is in contradiction to the government created by our founders), hatred for the military, hatred for the corporate persuit of profit (which makes everything we enjoy here possible through growth, innovation, progress and hence, taxation), and the complete destruction of all historical notions of family and human sexuality.

Most Utah county residents identify with the right-wing perspective, get over it.

I'm sorry to see such invective coming from some of you who have been so greatly blessed. I'm grateful for those who have the courage to stand up to the naysayers.

To the criticizers, tell me what you DO believe. Don't simply oppose...propose! And besides that, tell me what you're doing in YOUR lives to make this nation, this world, a better place. It's terribly easy to sit at your computer and peck away your hateful disgruntledness.

That said, I wish I did live there and had had the opportunity to be present for Mr. Beck's speech. If I can find it on the Internet, I'll watch it.

Thank goodness (and Heavenly Father) for free agency which allowed all you disapprovers to stay home or do something else.

Cheers for those who are striving upward instead of constantly looking (and tearing) down. We already have enough of those who are doing the latter!
