Give me a break! What a disingenuous comparison to Bush being called a chimp.
And those who make the comparison know it's ridiculous. Historically,
blacks depicted as chimps was done to dehumanize them. If the doll was of a
weasel or an animal with a long nose, horns and a tail and it was called Joe
Lieberman, the insult would be the same.

Are you stupid? Obama will destroy this country worse than Bush. Obama is a
completely incompotent idiot worse than Bush. Look at Obama's views and you
will see that he is one of the worst presidential candidates in the history of
the USA. The only reason he is where he is is because he is half black. If it
weren't for that he wouldn't have gotten 3% of the delegate votes. I
guess he is better than the pathalogical liar Clinton. She was worse than awful

It's not OK to depict Sen. Obama in that way because of the history of
racial violence and hatred centered around the supposed similarities between
black people and monkeys. This history never led to the lynching of white
people or to assaults against white people. And by the way, Sen. Obama can also

If congress can't do this who died and allowed some weak kneed blogger the right to stop or start someone making any political statement they wish.
If you think its racist then don't buy it. The vote with your pocketbook is far more efficient than a bunch of un-named thugs threatening someone to stop their right to free speech. We need to get some back bone and we need to stop all the name calling.
We as a people (all of us) cannot survive this on going litany of partisanship dividing us along so many different lines.This is more destructive than 911 by far.

People are way too sensitive. I do not think these people where trying to be
racist. Bad idea? Judging from the criticism they received yes. It just seems
that most people spew hate and negativity instead of actually getting to learn

I think the people who are making this sock puppet have every right to do so --
that is political freedom in America, and I'm sure the ACLU would defend
their right to make the thing. Still, as a Christian and an American, I think
that they are evil racists.

People don't really understand the term "RACIST;" It's about
a POWER relationship, to inflict upon or deny a group something based on their
shared characteristics. George Bush as a chimpanzee suggests that he's a
goofball, but make no mistake, he's a ruling member of the majority race!
Characterizing an African American as a monkey implies that they are not really
human, and it's OK to deny them our human rights. And, it's always
been so, but frankly, racism is a self-justifying belief, and most racists
aren't very big into history, either.

I do not think that this reflects on the lovely state of Utah, which I visited
several years ago, and where I was warmly welcomed. I think it only reflects on
the crass commercial bent of these two people who saw a quick way to make a fast

more to perpetuate racism and its accompanying divisive emotions than any
insensitivity or stupidity does. Creating a sock monkey who resembles a
presidential candidate may be insensitive but it�s a long
stretch to consider it racist. I often wonder if it�s not
the egocentric behaviors of the Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons and the NAACPs of
the world that keep the racism fires burning so brightly when most of us just
want to get along with each other.
If insensitive actions/remarks are directed a fat, blonde or short person, people shrug it off as insensitive and move one. However if the same thing happens in regard to person�s ethnicity, all tolerance is thrown out the window.
My own circle of association includes all walks of life - diverse ethnicities, religions, races, sexual orientation, etc., but somehow we all manage to get along because we see each other as individuals, with our own individual strengths and foibles.
Maybe we could put away the racism card and focus more on people as individuals.

I don't know from racism, but I for one am seriously offended that someone
out there is seriously running for office, while trying to look like a sock
monkey. Sock monkeys deserve a little dignity and happiness, yet someone has
