Who cares!
People who like Fitzsimmons' show care. Fitzsimmons was one of the best sports radio guys we've had in this market.
Ted, if you hated the article so much, why do you take the time to actually write a comment?
What did it mean when KFAN changed direction? I liked Fitzsimmons, so I guess it means KFAN wanted to move away from good hosts. To Ted, you obviously care enough to comment.
Fitzy was the best host SLC has ever had - I hated to see him go. Nice job KFAN --
I loved listening to Fitz as well. He always had NFL guys on the show. He was also one of the guys who helped bring college game game to the u.
This guy was a joke as a host here in Utah. He wasn't all that talented and spent way too much time talking SEC football. I realize the MWC isn't at the overall talent level of the SEC but I didn't need to hear about it when he was here.
Best Sports Radios Hosts Locally (all time)
1. David James (back when it was him and booner not PK)
2. Bill Reilley (formerly with KSL now Kall 700
3. Locke (he actually talks sports go figure its sports radio)
4. Steve Klauke (you may disagree but the guy knows sports and is underrated)
5. Scott Girrard (not on the air much but he is also really good)
Worst Sports Radio Host Locally
1. Kevin Graham.
(Not sure how anyone can listen to this juvenile is beyond me.)
BY FAR----------- Steve Brown
I disagree about Klauke number four. He is probably the best overall play by play guy in the market, but he isn't strong as a talk show host. Maybe a good second banana on a show, but not as a lead host. I'm not sure about Riley being number two. He speaks in the third person more than Karl Malone did.
This market misses Fitz. Yeah he talked about the national scene a lot, but he was very knowledgeable - and fair - about the local teams. Unlike Locke, no one ever heard Ian say "WE beat the Lakers last night" or "WE beat Wyoming Saturday." I knew him personally, and he appreciated both BYU and the U's places in college football.
David Locke is the best, this guy amazes me
everytime i Listen to his afternoon show. He is
great, love his show. I can not stand these guys on
the air who discuss personal situations all the time.
Who cares about your daughters softball team, or
tennis team,or sons football game. We want sports
David Locke does that everyday and he is prepared with topics, interviews and a good show.
Even though I am a BYU grad and fan, I liked Matt Thomas when he had a show on KALL plus when he did the Utah games. He sounded like a real radio guy which we need in this state.
1. David James is the best
2. David Locke is the worst
3. Kevin Graham is the second worst
4. Steve Klauke needs to go back to Chicago so he can get his beloved Chicago dog.
5. I do not miss David Blackwell at all.
I agree. Steve Brown is HORRIBLE. No matter the sport, he talks over the color guy. Funny thing is, the color guy is usually an ex-player and Steve never played a sport in his life.
You mean you don't miss me rambling on about the good old days?
Bill Riley rules the afternoon drive. Hes objective, his show is well balanced and fun and more importantly he doesnt forget that its just sports being discussed, not the end of civilization. If you want an interesting discussion about the world of sports without all the smack and bling elsewhere give him a listen.
Dave Blackwells shoulders are the ones everyone stands on in this market. He was a pioneer and great, I for one miss him.
By far the best radio guy in the state is Andy Griffen in st. george. If we could just get him up to SLC ...
Let's face it. This is the most boring time of the year for sports. Thank goodness for the entertaining sports figures who know how to put a smile on my face.

Guys like David Locke are informative but take themselves WAY too seriously.
