West Jordan may boost property tax 28%

In the thirty five years that I have lived here I have seen this city grow from a four way stop at Redwood Road to the congested, overdeveloped, disaster of Urban Sprawl and zero-lot line housing that it has become. The only open space left in West Jordan would be if someone named a new real estate/strip mall development "Open Space Estates". With all the "growth" in housing and new business, I am left to wonder what happened to all the tax revenue that the newcomers (around 40,000 residents in the last 15 years) should be generating. The answer is that the city council is wasting city funds. Again. Does the name Atkinson ring any reminder bells?
If my taxes go up again, it better not be to pay for more traffic clogging roundabouts on 40th west.

Levy a tax on each newborn baby
Set up toll booths and charge anyone who wants to drive thru our fair city.
Tax all purchases of tea 500%
Tax all stamps sold in the city.
Charge 1 penny for each strand of spaghetti sold in the city, 2 pennies for each macaroni noodle.
Charge for a "Walking Pass" for those wanting to take leisurely walks on the city sidewalks.
Just a few ideas. I can hardly wait to live in a "First Class" city!
