Good Luck Thayne! From all your friends in Wyoming
I thought dancing was prohibited by law in Utah. Wasn't Utah the setting and inspiration for the movie "Foot-Loose" (where dancing was totally banned)?
Woohoo! Go Utah! We dance, we sing... haha Where is your information coming from Anonymous? I've never heard of this dancing being prohibited... Maybe it comes from the whole "Mormons have to dance with a bible in between them" thing?
Footloose is a movie. A FICTIONAL movie. Dancing never has been and never will be banned. Yes, Utah was the setting. Lots of movies are filmed there. But inspiration? No.
Anon, go ahead and jerk our chain. Dork. OK, you got me.
Footloose was based on a true story that happened in a Midwestern town. The director decided to set it in Utah because the mountains made a more dramatic background than flat land. There is extensive commentary about the original story and how they chose shooting locations on the extended DVD.
Next up: American Idol. Took 'em long enough didn't it......
