It has been obvious to us parents since DAY 1.
I am so dissappointed in the State of Texas that my corporation no longer does business with that state.

They should not have that right to take those children without a parents
supervision.

Rene Haas seems to be the only lawyer that has gotten individual consideration
of her client's case.

CPS agencies are like a gestapo with massive ultra-constitutional and
unconstitutional authority.
The people of this country must either put an end to this abuse of unconstitutional power and this trampling under of the constitution or continue to welcome the police state with open arms in the name of "for the children"

as much as I would like to blame Texas for this...any CPS in any state can do
this.....Florida came and removed my 3 young children to another room without us
till 3 in the morning intergating our children cuz I took a bike away from a 11
year old that rode in front of a car...her punishment 1 week without her
bike.....CPS said I was stealing from my children cuz the bike had been a gift
and I couldnt take it....I had to give it back or they would remove all 3
children from my home.....and they wonder why we have children shooting up our
schools.....Bike got a hole in the tire and since it was her bike and she had no
job she couldnt get it fixed ...needless to say we moved as soon as we were
able....

maybe if these parents would get out of that suffocating environment and quit
acting so bizarre they wouldn't have this problem....
I'm mostly kidding, except that those kids are going to be all whack by the time they're teenagers. So much for college and a real life..

I personally know of an 18 year old FLDS boy who was the project manager of a
million dollar construction project. So much for college and a real life.
Take the average FLDS teenager and you will find that they can grow their own food, sew their own clothes, and build their own houses. How many college graduates can say the same? They are too busy drinking and having multiple sexual partners to learn how to actually survive unassisted. How's that for a reality check?

In all the video footage I've seen on the reuniting of the FLDS families,
very few of the children will look at their parents. In the well-publicized
Jessup case, the mother had to continually lay her daughter's head on her
shoulder. Her daughter did not willingly embrace her mother. It's like many
of the children don't want to return to their parents. I think CPS is
well-justified in keeping an eye on these parents (if they are really the
parents).

wonder he's a project manager. At the age of 18, he's already been on
the job for at least 6 years. It is doubtful he gets paid very well, if at all.
All his sweat equity goes to the church.

It's not just the FLDS that teach their children how to work. This is a common thing in rural America. I grew up in a farm community, and I can assure you that the kids I knew worked very hard for no money. Perhaps they would have had a more fulfilling childhood playing hours of video games, and watching TV, but I don't think so. To me, making a fat couch potato out of a kid is abuse. Teaching them a trade is not.
Teenagers have been adults in this world far longer than they've been children. You're teenager may be useless and incapable of work, but if that's so, it's due to a lack of parenting, and not a lack of capability on the part of the teenager.
By the way, an FLDS framing crew I know starts out paying about $15 an hour, with experienced framers making about $25. That's not bad pay for an 18 year old.

I believe that the CPS of Texas had every right to go in and remove those
children. There is so much abuse that goes on within the FLDS community that it
is awesome that someone finally had the guts to do something about it. If you
don't believe me about the abuse I would like you to go and pick up one of
the many books written by people that have either escaped or been forced to
leave their community for not "keeping sweet". What a shame that the
men and women are not given the opportunity to learn and grow in a manner of
their choosing. If you are above 18 and you choose to live your life like that
I don't have a problem. Please do not clip the wings of your young...let
them blossom and bloom into the awesome people they CHOOSE to become. If you
are the truth on this earth don't be so afraid to let your
members(men,women, and children)learn for themselves. Forced righteousness
never is true righteousness.

So tired of reading how much better off the kids on the ranch are because,
'most kids in the outside world are promiscuous, drug abusing, drinking,
sit-on their butts, lazy, spoiled, good-for-nothing products of evil permissive
parents...'!I hope to never hear this garbage again; it is an insult to
me.
Brent, I know hundreds of college graduates who never drank in our after graduating, who did not sleep around...and actually have real life working skills and jobs. My husband and I are just two such people. And, believe it or not, we also have great children who are excellent students, to whom we teach morals, values and religion; we even give them a little freedom, and we are not FLDS.
I also know of a young FLDS man who was a framer, and very rich; a friend of ours dated him..very nice guy and very skilled, but that's not the point here.

oregon did you know when a child is taken away they blame the parents. Why did
you not let me stay, why did you come see me and then leave me over and over.
Why did you let some stranger touch me in places I was uncomfortable. Why were
you not there when i was sick and crying to come home. Yes they may have been
real angry because they did not understand what was happening. Unlike kids in
san bernardino where they see this happen all the time and the kids talk about
it in schools. You see this is the damage these kids suffered...the failure of
parents to make things right in their eyes.

Houston Chronicle reports on yesterday's Jessop hearing -- the only story
that comes up on a Google search. Jessops got a restraining order against CPS,
the State has appealed, everything on hold pending Appeals Court review.

The problem with todays society is that the children can not learn a trade
without everyone screaming child labor laws. Children LOVE to help and if that
is stiffled, by the time they CAN get a job they are past the teaching time.
Catholics say, "Give me a child until they are three and they will be a
Catholic all their life." It is not abuse to teach children to work if it
is under a loving environment. Todays problem is that parents are sooo selfish
in looking for their own "Good Time" that they would rather yell at
the child for getting in the way of the TV while they were watching something
(etc.etc.) than to take the child and teach it a trade or good habits. I know
there are some people that DO teach their children, but for the general run of
the American population you will find this to be the case. Thus children go find
their own fun--gangs, liquer, drugs, etc. etc. and they still are not fulfilled
because they have been let down by the parents and those who make the laws.
