What about the Easter Pageant at the Mesa, Arizona Temple? That happened in March 2008. It was a BIG production.
Why is this news? There are important political, environmental and social stories which deserve news coverage. For every story like this, there is less room for important news in your newspaper.
It's news because there are people who want to know about it. If you don't care don't read it. If you don't think the DN is relevant enough - go read some other paper. Every time some human interest story gets posted, especially if it's LDS, somebody has to pop in and gripe. Don't people have anything better to do???
No, they don't!
Thanks for posting the dates of SOME of the pageants.
As mentioned in a previous post, not ALL of the Pageants were posted and they mentioned the one in Arizona that has already happened.
Northern California (SF Bay AREA) has for many years
presented "And It Came to Pass" the only INDOOR pageant with a LIVE (not pre-recorded) orchestra with a Choir of 450+ (young people/youth) strong.
That's more singers that the Tabernacle Choir.
The actors/singers on stage are doing it "LIVE" TOO!!
Look up "Oakland Temple Pageant" on the internet if you wish. Happens for two weeks every Summer on Temple Hill in the Oakland, CA Hills. It's held in the Multi Stake Center right next to the Oakland Temple. Free tickets are available at the visitors
center also on the Temple grounds. It's about a
month away, so it is not history yet for 2008.
Lord Bless...
When are folks going to figure out that "Short Anne" or whoever they want to call themselves that day always hovers like a vulcher to post their tolken "Why is this news" post?
Their just trying to jab into the sides of people that will take them seriously.
Forget the "why is this news" posts.
Mormon Times is weak! I can't believe it exists. Fire the staff and hire some journalism majors. Wow.
Bring back the City of Joseph pageant! The current Nauvoo pageant is a despicable embarrassment! Take my advice, don't go!
The current Nauvoo pageant is absolutely wonderful. I don't understand why Shane thought it was despicable. It is one of the Church's best pageant out there. I strongly support the pageant and think all that see it will appreciate the message and will be proud of the work that the Church has done on it! Go see the pageant and judge for yourself. I've seen almost every pageant that is in the U.S. and the Nauvoo pageant is tops! I think Shane should go see it again and try to figure out the message it is trying to put across. The rest of us understand it--what happened with you Shane??
