I'm thinking it would have been a good idea a LONG TIME AGO to get serious about playing the whole game! Sheesh! I sometimes think I'm watching a U12 game....
RSL needs to not loose the game in the last 10 minutes. They need to dominate tonight and show that they aren't still an expansion team anymore by smoking this expansion team tonight. Go RSL!
what does the phrase "pick it up a notch" mean? Maybe, turn it up a notch? that sounds better. or maybe pick up the pace. It doesn't matter cause its soccer. The only sport that is worse is the WNBA. If soccer is the most popular sport in your country, you're in the third world. Europe included. If you've lived there you know what I mean.
RSL needs to do a lot of things to get back in the playoff race. The first thing is, obviously, win tonight. But I don't think I'll be that happy after a win tonight (unless it is a win by at least 4 goals). They've not lived up to their potential too many times to warrant any respect with a win tonight. The thing that would make me start believing in RSL again is two wins in a row. Next week we've got KC coming in and if RSL can take it to KC and pull out a win, then they will be a respectable team that has a shot at the play-offs still. After 2 wins, they'll have a little bit of momentum and be able to string a few wins together just like they did in 2006. RSL was the best team in the league in the second half of 2006 because they finally won two games in a row and learned that winning is more fun than losing.
Every RSL season looks and sounds the same...bottom of the league, "we have got to pick it up a notch" now or never, terrible refs, "we have just got to play a full 90 minutes". I see this and hear this every year. In the past I always felt it would simply take time for an expansion team to work itself into a playoff calibre team and we (fans) just need to be more patient until that happens. But Chivas and RSL began MLS play the same year and Chivas, though not at the top, is still playing better and in the playoffs. So what now RSL...same look and sound every season? Getting tired of it.
I don't know what you mean about Europe. I have lived there for many years and visit as often as possible. Have you even been to England, France, Spain, etc... If you call those Third world countries, then you should consider getting some education. Soccer is the greatest and most popular sport in the world. Enough said. Go RSL.
What a boring sport, it's even worse than baseball or golf. Oh well, I guess if the "rest of the world" loves it then we should have a professional league. Yeah, money down the drain.
So far I think we have to say the Mr. Checketts and company have not lived up to their end of the deal. This team is not a good team yet again and that has to be blamed on the organization. I would ask if there is a clear vision for the team and the organization and are they going after that vision? In sports, especially at the pro level, winning is everything. If you don't win, your losing and no one likes a loser. RSL et al, it is time to have a vision, implement it, and get winning.
