"do we have any evidence of sexual activity"

________________

What do you call a baby? Of course the DNA is evidence. Unless you have medical records of artificial insemination. Even then that would be a crime. Forced impregnation of a minor by women and men. I think that as old fasion as they are in their thinking that they would use such a radical method of reproducing.

Warren Jeffs is disgusting.

Oh Warren, you continue to fall to new levels of sleaziness.

If they were smart... | 11:02 a.m. May 30, 2008
The first thing they would do, after they get their children back, is to renounce Warren Jeffs as their "prophet."

The second thing they should do is officially renounce and abandon their practice of arranged underage marriages.

Pedophile poster boy!
realitycheck | 11:23 a.m. May 30, 2008
looks like pedophile-boy is going away for a long time. if he ever gets out it'll be too soon. what a sick puppy.

I suggest they do to him exactly whay he ordered happen to the dogs in Colorado City........
Mad Granny | 11:23 a.m. May 30, 2008
I'm thinking maybe, just maybe some of these young women will not want to go back to the ranch---then what will happen? Also, remember when the children were first being bused to shelters in other towns---40 women chose to go to a safe place rather than go to the ranch. What has happened to them? I don't remember hearing anything else about them.
MoJules | 11:25 a.m. May 30, 2008
It is very disturbing to read of all these young girls who were forced into a marriage with Jeff's. I think that he is a child molester and in order to justify his sickness, he made it a commandment to have young girls trained and ready to marry as young as age 12. You look at the picture of the kissing and that girl seems to know how to kiss. I think that there has always been things with this group that were skirting the law, and the law looked the other way, but when you bring in young girls, that is wrong. Will this group stop the practice, NO, but hopefully they will do as many of the other polygamist groups do and make the marriage age 18. I hope that Jeff's will never get out, but I hope that they go after all the big guys in the group, I am sure they all have a couple of 12, 13, or 14 year old brides. As a mother, I would walk away before I let some old man have his pleasures with my young child. I would fight that person tooth and nail, these mothers failed their daughters.
Perversion | 11:35 a.m. May 30, 2008
Warren Jeffs is a pervert. Dogs come in all sizes and shapes. Remember that.
Scott | 11:37 a.m. May 30, 2008
Who cares about polygamous marriages between adults.
It's this whole child bride thing that disgusts me. These girls don't have the choice and are not legally capable of making this decision by themselves. We will probably hear of even more children being married to this slimy maggot.
Unfortunate | 11:48 a.m. May 30, 2008
Unfortunately, the heavy-handed actions of Texas CPS, which produced some of the evidence, may mean that the evidence seized will be inadmissable in a criminal case. But perhaps it will serve to open the eyes of the good people among the FLDS and they will realize that Warren Jeffs is no longer fit to be their prophet--if he ever was. It appears that he has used his position, not to guide a people, but to foster his own, and his special associates, lusts of the flesh--financially and sexually.
Samantha | 11:56 a.m. May 30, 2008
YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! Anyone who has ever been sexually abused or molested CRINGES at this community approved Child Bride Scam! Heaven help those girls - their religion isn't!
Joy | 11:59 a.m. May 30, 2008
Only a man would say who cares about polygamy. Maybe women should take on the practice and be perverted like Warren Jeffs. What men can do woman can do better.

Warren Jeffs is deranged.
AMEN!! | 11:59 a.m. May 30, 2008
Warren it is only a matter of time! Look out FLDS men...if you've been a part of this...you should be in jail with Warren...and I also feel the mothers share some of the blame also. For those in the FLDS who have not had anything to do with this...bless you...may you get your children back and may you love them and protect them from abusive situations like this. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!
Sharon | 12:04 p.m. May 30, 2008
I hope to God, the parents of these young girls are also held accountable for handing over their little girl to this pervert Jeffs. They are just as guilty as he is. The unbearable pain these little girls had to endure at the hands of this sicko Jeffs..first from being raped...then giving birth..I hope after all is said and done...Jeffs is put with the rest of the prisoners...he should not have a special cell for his safty.
California | 12:04 p.m. May 30, 2008
Rod Parker is an attorney??? He doesnt see how DNA will prove this? Hello Mr. Parker, if these underage girls gave birth and that scumbag pedophile is the baby daddy the dna will prove it. Mr. Parker, do you know how babies are made? Sexual assault with a minor! After viewing those pictures (which by the way made me sick) I find it unbelieveable that anyone would stand up for this sick cult. Mormons you should distance yourself as far away from this depravity as you can. Stop rationalizing these people and their sick practices.
Doug | 12:16 p.m. May 30, 2008
I have heard that the age of consent is very young in some of the Southern states. People get married at age 14. Does anyone know what the age of consent is in Texas?
Sympathy for the Devil | 12:28 p.m. May 30, 2008
Any LDS Mormon who sympathizes with the men of FLDS, in my opinion, should be excommunicated from the LDS church. It's not good to have sympathy for the devil.
Just Thinking..hmmmm | 12:30 p.m. May 30, 2008
We all know sicko Jeffs gave little girls to other FLDS men in the cult from reading the Bishop's list. As soon as the DNA tests are back, how many more sick'o are going to be wearing strips ! Thats if the cowards who are in hiding can be found, which in do time, they will be.......I also agree with Sharon's post...the mothers of these little girls need to be prosecuted right along with the daddies.
hmmmmm | 12:39 p.m. May 30, 2008
I think once DNA is back on all these children
it will certainly speak for itself
We will see clearly what woman/teen as given birth
to which child
Like the one reporter keeps pointing to
is if you have a 24 year old mother with a 8 year old kid then something is up
so i will be really curious to see how DNA turns out
and they should get court order DNA from Merril Jessop also
america is so full of it | 12:44 p.m. May 30, 2008
Nature does not care about the stupid laws of stupid humans.
Everything else is irrelevant. If this was ICELAND its perfectly legal, but because this is the REGULATORY HAPPY US, then suddenly its a crime for two reproductive humans to reproduce. Stupid humans. If you're going to complain about something, then you might ask what the relatives of the victims of the US invasion of Iraq think, I'm sure you will hear plenty to concern yourselves with.
Just remember, every time you repeat somebody else's phrases, you are just that, a repeater. There is nothing more bad on our planet than killing, torturing and stealing from others because you can. LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE!!!
squiring? | 12:48 p.m. May 30, 2008
squiring? What the heck does that mean? The article said "Jeffs is accused of squiring more child brides". I'm trying to figure out what that means. it sounds terrible.
WashCo | 12:48 p.m. May 30, 2008
Where are all the FLDS sympathizers now? This is why the children are in danger. If you know anything about this culture, you know that the mothers are lining up with their young daughters for these stud services. Some men should be neutered.
fed up | 12:49 p.m. May 30, 2008
so if this was iceland, it would be perfectly legal, but because this is the CRIMINALIZE EVERTHING america, then its not legal. How stupid is that?. Imagine that, two reproductive humans having children. Quick, call the pope.
What ever happened to leaving people alone, so they can be PEOPLE. You religious pushers have been pushing your garbage via your descendents and followers for eons. Nature supercedes religions, morals and any other garbage you extremely bad humans can throw at it. When are we going to criminalize using legitimate means to attack others ?
Finally! | 12:50 p.m. May 30, 2008
I'm glad they are finally getting around to charging Jeffs with something HE did, instead of all the cases of other people doing things they should have known were bad and saying, "He made me do it"!
Karen | 12:59 p.m. May 30, 2008
California, I completely agree. Unbelievable.
Karen | 1:05 p.m. May 30, 2008
America is so full of it....you should move to Iraq. Here in America we have rules to protect innocent people.

This is not Iceland or Iraq. it is America.

Before you go insulting people and name calling, you should try a reasonable arguement to get people's attention.

All you did was annoy me with your emotional angry repose which is a total waste of time to read. I am sorry I read it at all.

dixiegal | 1:12 p.m. May 30, 2008
California what part do you not understand...these people are not "Mormon" or LDS. They are a seperate religion called the FLDS. Please do not insult the "mormons" be lunping them in with this sick group of people. A "mormon" would be quickly excommunicated for living or believing in their lifestyle. We do not rationalize or condone their practices.
amazing | 1:23 p.m. May 30, 2008
Some one is determined to crucify this guy, I only wonder why? They have told me he is bad, but have I ever meet him? (they have already proven there not following conventional rules in FLDS cases)Do I really know that all this isnt just Fake evidence as a way to get attention off of what they have done? And then again maybe there right, they sure went about catching this guy, convicting him then getting evidence to justify there actions, all I can say is someone or something is determined to Crucify him. One thing is for sure he is the only first degree felon to ever make it onto Americas Most Wanted, anyone else find that unusual? To the Christian world who wants to throw the first stone?
Dear America is Full of It: | 1:29 p.m. May 30, 2008
If you hate America so bad, I suggest you spend a little time in the Middle East, or perhaps Myanmar. The hypocrisy of people like you is what is disgusting....not the genuine abhorence people feel about these pedophiles. "Leaving people alone" seems to be the mantra of the pedophile, who wants to abuse little ones without consequences.

Because you obviously feel sympathy for these creeps, I wonder if you should sign your name so that we can see whether you are on the sexual predator listing....If not, you should be.
They ARE Mormons | 1:29 p.m. May 30, 2008
dixiegal - Please, please try to understand. They ARE Mormons, they just are not YOUR type of Momrons. What is the name of your church legally and officially? It definitely is NOT "The Mormon Church" since there isn't any such legally organized church. They follow the Book of MORMON and the prophet it came from, according to them.

Just as Catholics and Baptists and the LDS are Christians, so the FLDS and the LDS church are Mormons. It is a case of language and word meanings, not a case of dogma or what you believe vs. what they believe.
Samme | 1:42 p.m. May 30, 2008
squiring? What the heck does that mean? The article said "Jeffs is accused of squiring more child brides". I'm trying to figure out what that means. it sounds terrible."

Means "escorting."
Too hot for Iceland | 1:41 p.m. May 30, 2008
Doug,

The age to consent to marriage in Texas without written parental permission filed at a courthouse is 18.

Prior to September 1, 2005, 14-17 year-olds could marry in Texas but only with written parental permission filed with the county clerk prior to the issuance of a marriage license.

After that date, a 16 or 17-year-old could marry in Texas, but only with written parental permission filed with the county clerk prior to the issuance of a marriage license or under a court order.

After September 1, 2005, persons under the age of 16 can marry in Texas only under a court order.

Informal (common-law) marriages have been prohibitted for persons under the age of 18 in Texas since 1997.

Warren Jeffs brains are beneath his belt buckle. It's called inbreeding. Jeffs, when once a fetus, had his brain grow in the wrong location.
awesomeron | 1:55 p.m. May 30, 2008
Every Under aged Child that he so called married. He Raped. At last reports he is being held in Arizona. Get you warrant go to get his DNA and charge him with every Sex Crime you can. So that this Perp never ever sees the light of day except from a Prison Cell.
chemist | 1:58 p.m. May 30, 2008
amazing: Most people can now agree that trying to defend Warren Jeffs is to try to defend that which is totally indefensible. I have never met Osama Bin Laden, but I am sure he is an evil man who tries to cloak his evil deeds in the name of religion. Sounds like someone else I have heard of with the initials WJ.
wrz | 2:07 p.m. May 30, 2008
Law enforcement claims that Bishop's Records show a July 2006 marriage between a 12-year-old girl and Jeffs."

Go to the county court house and look at the record to see if Jeffs was issued a marriage license. If not, he is not married even though he said "I do" to someone.

And if he did say "I do," it would likely be a spiritual marriage which does not require a state issued license. It's a religious thing. Not unlike what the Mormons does in their Temples. So he walks.

And if the accusation is sex with minors based on matching DNA, he can claim artificial insemination. Again he walks.

Furthermore, why would he agree to give DNA samples? That's tantamount to having to testify against one's self... in violation of the Constitution's Bill of Rights.
Copyright Mormon | 2:09 p.m. May 30, 2008
The LDS church needs to Copyright MORMON, so the FLDS weirdos cannot use the name. It isn't right they use it, because they are nothing more then apostates from the true MORMON church.
California | 2:16 p.m. May 30, 2008
Dixiegal. I did not say they were Mormons. I said that the Mormons LDS not FLDS should distance themselves as far away as they can. I am at this minute reading an LDS newspaper and writing a comment in an LDS newspaper. It stands to reason that many of the readers and posters here are LDS. Those same people are sympathizing with the FLDS perverts and their fake prophet. If these sympathizers were in the NY Post I would not make the same assumption. So yes dixie dear I do know the difference. Do YOU know your own church history my dear?
Anonymous | 2:50 p.m. May 30, 2008
and all of you bleeding hearts want children returned to their mothers. And the beat goes on.
California | 3:05 p.m. May 30, 2008
wrz. He already gave the DNA or should I say it was taken from him in the Arizona jail. Criminals do not have the same rights you and I do. The charge they are going for is sexual assault of a minor. Which, given that he fathered children with a 12 year old and a 14 year old will not be hard to prove. You are most likely a pedophile yourself if you think that lowlife should walk or have rights. Copywrite, it would not make any difference. They follow the book of Mormon just as the LDS do. Had it not been for the rejection of polygamy in the late 1800's you and they would be attending the same church on Sunday.
Abuse of little girls | 3:09 p.m. May 30, 2008
The CNN News called Warren Jeffs a creepy guy. The CNN news people said that they are all repulsed by the pictures of Warren Jeffs kissing little girls, and that they don't want to even imagine what happened after Warren married these young girls. Everyone is sick over those awful photographs. I'm happy to report that they are not done with FLDS perversions. Everyone fears for the return of the children. They men are not to be trusted.
Thomas | 3:14 p.m. May 30, 2008
Warren Jeffs is an awful man, but I would be truly surprised to see any evidence seized in the Eldorado raid holding up as admissible in a criminal proceeding.
Anonymous | 3:31 p.m. May 30, 2008
WARREN JEFFS, FLDS LEADER: Jailhouse converstation I am hesitating while I`m giving this message as the Lord dictates these words to my mind and heart. I am not the prophet. I never was the prophet, and I have been deceived by the power powers of evil. The Lord told me to say, and I yearn for everyone`s forgiveness for my aspiring and selfish way of life, in deceiving the elect, breaking the new and everlasting covenant and being the most wicked man on the face of the earth in this last dispensation.

Truer words were never spoken. Nuff said.

The flds also has been implicated by numerous ex-members in a high number of missing persons cases and suspicious death cases. Their leaders really and truly have become similar to the Mob in their commands to followers and henchmen.

"Marrying" underage girls and having babies with them is the tip of the iceberg. Do not forget, these girls are absolutely fully conditioned to swoon over "prophets," as many "mainstream" American kids might swoon over celebrities. I have read reports of their girls age 8 and 9 marrying; the press mentioning 13 year olds is actually dressing this up somewhat. Jeffs and his cronies are criminals on multiple levels, in numerous criminal categories. The lower-rank follwers in what appears to be most cases still either have not heard or simply cannot accept this. It would break them psychologically. They are extremely religious, convinced their practices are righteous, etc. Everything they do is directly related to what they believe about going to heaven, what they think God requires of them, etc. They have a few things sort of right and it is mixed in with a whole bunch of wrong. I feel pessimistic and hopeless for them. The brainwashing's extreme.
Anonymous | 3:47 p.m. May 30, 2008
I feel sorry for those young girls in the picture kissing Warren Jeffs. I imagine it was quit grotesque for the girls at such a tender age to be forced to have sex with the old man Jeffs. Indeed, a terrible and horrible event for those young gals. It was no doubt deliberate rape.
re - wrz | 3:54 p.m. May 30, 2008
I'm confused.... are you actually sticking up for Jeffs, or are you trying to make a rational argument? you failed at both....
Interloper | 4:00 p.m. May 30, 2008
The evidence gathered during the raid of the YFZ Ranch is admissable in criminal cases against Warren Jeffs and others. The search was carried out in good faith and with probable cause to believe evidence relevant to child abuse would be found. The ruling of the Texas Supreme Court in the custody cases held the state could not maintain custody of the children without further showing individual children were at risk of abuse. The Court did not find the search of the compound improper.

I am glad the state is bringing criminal cases that will help CPS keep custody of girls who are proven to be child 'brides.' It would be an abomination to return them to the abusive environment of FLDS settlements.
