shes right, this place is the bomb. And they do take checks.

Greg

I have been there no less than 10 times. The best sandwich around! The Pizza Steak is amazing. I never knew food could taste that good!

Sarah

This place is awesome! Honestly, the best Philly Sandwiches around.

Ben

With a name like that I was worried they were going to compete with Moochies (who will tell you, Whiz is not the real thing, but it's cheap!). Fortunately it's all the way down in the south end of the valley.

Kratz, if you're in downtown, or your husband stops in, Moochies has the Tastycakes.

Cori

Yeah! Way to go Downtown Philly!!! I love their hot turkey sandwhich! The bread is so soft and fresh. Best dang sandwhich shop around!

Jack

Well Ben Moochies would be wrong,Whiz is the real thing, I grew up in South Philly and it's Whiz Wit(whiz with onions) or Whiz Wit/out(no onions). The Downtown Philly is as authentic as it gets out here!

Mark

Yeah great place. Best cheesesteaks in Utah I've been able to find. Very Good!

Mark M

The dang things are addictive!!! I have been to Philly and ate at both Gene's and Pat's. The DP sandwiches are authentic as can be and Matt and Nick are nicer to talk with as they wont yell at you if you dont get the order right out of your mouth in one second. :-) Nice job guys. Best sandwiches in Utah.

Cheez whiz not authentic? I can see not liking it, but to say its not authentic Philly style is absurd. The fact that you can get it at every steak shop in Philly is a good indicator that its commonly used there. And to say it is cheap is also not accurate, its almost as expensive as provolone ounce for ounce. I like both moochies and the dp, but i gotta give the dp a slight edge. I usually get the meatball at moochies over the steak anyway, moochies meatball is amazazing

Ruprict

Easily the best steak and cheese you can find in Utah. As a few do exist, this one takes it to the next level. Warning: Very addictive.

The whiz, although some might not be brave enough to give it a shot, is probably by far the best sandwhich I've ever had.

Kyle

I have been waiting for somebody to compete with the high priced "The Italian Place". Not only does DP compete, it makes REAL philly sandwiches! I love it.

Whitney M.

My cousin, Nick R., and his friend are the Owners of the Downtown Philly. When I told him that it was my favorite restraunt, he thought I was just saying that because I was his cousin; but it really is the best sandwich around (the Pizza Steak sandwich is to die for!!). The prices are super low for that kind of quality, and every time I go there, I eat on the tables (which are always clean), then I get another sandwich to go, for later. If you haven't already tried it, hurry up, because you don't know what you're missing!!

Whitney M.

Haha, what I meant by that was..... I eat there, then take one home for later. (I do not eat off of the tables).

???

Downtown Philly rocks!!! Guarantee you will not have a better tasting philly anywhere in utah. Food is fresh and its out of control addicting. I guarantee you go once and youll be hooked, and yeah you gotta go with the whiz nothin better!!!

EatOuter

Ben pointed out that Moochies has condemned the use of Whiz for years, but now I hear they are serving it! SELLOUTS!!!

MJ

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Now my work does DP lunch runs.

Phillip

I do find it quite funny that nobody served cheese whiz until the Downtown Philly opened up. I'm surprised The Italian Place hasn't sucked up their pride and started serving it yet! In fact...I'm just flat out surprised The Italian Place is still even in business....

Josh

I just got back from spending two years in Pennsylvania. I was worried it would be years before I could get authentic cheesesteak again, but DPS is delicious and super authentic. I highly recommend it.

Bill

"Cheez whiz not authentic?" Ha ha anyone that is truly from Philly (like myself) knows that cheez whiz is not the most authentic.. the cheesesteak was invented years before processed cheese (whiz) and the only reason you can get the whiz anywhere in Philly, is because they've accommodated over all the years, and all the hype. And you can argue that geno's and pat's uses the whiz, but the only time I ate at one of those places, while living in philly, was when I was high and had no where else to go. Provolone is the ONLY way to go!

Kenny

Geno's and Pat's are good.. but, they are mostly for tourists, the real cheesesteaks are on south street.
