What is WRONG with these people???????

j beez

sicko! animal cruelty should not be tolerated anywhere! there must be something seriously wrong mentally with this man its not going to be too long before he harms a person or even a child. People like this need to be thrown out of a fast moving car to see how it feels!

runnin' ute

What an awful story. I hope that piece of work gets caught.

Catch the guy.....

.....and throw him out a window!

Scum

The lowest level of human.

It wasn't that long ago...

That euthanizing or dropping off unwanted pets was normal. I remember dozens of cases in which it happened in the little community I grew up in. It seems that some of you that commented are out for blood against the guy that did it. That is more scary than the deed he did.

I don't agree with animal cruelty. It's wrong. But I also don't believe that an animal is worth destroying someone's life over unless it is extreme and regular behavior. Get a grip people. They're cats! The story gave very little information when you think about it other than the fact that a cat ended up dead, and another cat had it's leg amputated when it should have been euthanized.

Arrest him to proect his childre

Having watched the Animal Cops series on the Animal Channel I am not the least bit shocked that he did this since I have seen far worst done to animals by people. At least he didn't torture the kittens or put them in an oven alive, or force his children to watch him kill them.

There are three main types of animal cruelty:

1) Those who get pleasure from the abuse/torture;
2) Those who get pleasure from the pain it inflits on their children, spouses and significant others;
3) Those who pleasure from imagining that it is a person;

These three types are quite different from animal horders or those who neglect animals. Anyone who has not seen an emaciated and malnourished animal should watch Animal Cops because it shows the inhumanity of some people. If you think what this guy did was horrible then you will cringe after 1 opposite of Animal Cops.

This man should be prosecuted to the fullest extant of the law since he is only one step removed from doing serious harm to people the pleasure he gets from mistreating, neglecting or torturing an animal won't be sufficient and he will move to children next.

Is it true that if someone does it to an animal, they can easily do it to a human?

That is why people who hurt animals scare the snot out of civilized society.

Book em, give em jail time and a fine. And show their photo to every kid within 50 miles with a giant warning; THIS COULD BE YOU!!!

Did you huff paint as a kid?

"It wasn't that long ago," I would consider this an extreme behavior. I highly doubt there could be any humane reason to do something so disgusting. So yeah, I say destroy the guy. He has no right to do what he did. I say ruin his life over it. Throw the book at the guy and set a standard for all the other sickos who will do something like this.

The fact of the matter is that those kittens, not cats, are defenseless. If he wanted to just get rid of them, he could have given them away or given them to a Humane Society. The fact that he elected to do that to them shows me that he is a disturbed individual.

See, this wouldn't have happened if Utah had just made animal torture a felony!

Wait a second . . .

Never mind.

Animal Cruelty

I believe cruelty to animals is a terrible thing. But I fail to see how this constitutes animal cruelty (the deliberately inflammatory headline notwithstanding). They weren't thrown out the window of a tall building; they were dropped or tossed out the window of a car. A stopped car. That's a three foot drop, people. And these are kittens we're talking about, who are more likely to land on their feet than not. He drove over a kitten while leaving the scene. Sounds like an accident to me. The same thing has happened (certainly accidentally) with a pet kitten in our own garage... kittens are stupid when it comes to car tires, it's a sad fact. As for the leg injury, the article wasn't clear what the cause was.

The plain truth is, this guy (whoever it is) apparently couldn't find anyone to take his cats, and made poor choice to turn them loose instead of giving them to the humane society. Beyond that, it's all explicable by accidents, pure and simple. And folks here want to prosecute this "abuser" to the full extent of the law! Why don't we spend the resources to catch more serious threats to society instead?

Excuse me...

...uh, these were THREE WEEK OLD kittens - it's not as though he had been trying to find homes for them as they weren't even old enough, nor was her trying to "turn them loose." And the article stated he THREW one of them into a bush, which caused it's legs to be damaged.

I don't usually comment in these arenas, but don't make excuses for this fellow. What he did wasn't an accident, it was premeditated.
