Another one in Arizona? What's going on in Arizona that we don't know?
You might as well face it...
... Arizona is awesome.
i look forward to a future tucson temple
YAY!!!!!!!!!! I grew up in Mesa but how nice to have one in Phoenix now! I wonder if they will use the standard smaller size or perhaps make it bigger?
If Arizona is getting another temple, I suspect Arizona's existing temples are very busy.
Rapid population growth. There are a lot of Latter-Day Saints in the Phoenix area, and there will be many more.
for a temple in Tucson. Does anyone know where in Phoenix the new temple will be? This is exciting!!!
Tucson! Think Tucson!!! :-)
Has anyone forgotten that he is a Prophet of God? Maybe that's why they are building a new temple? Need their be any other reason?
Arizona is the new Utah.
Asking why there's another new temple in Arizona is like asking why they keep building temples in Utah--There are a lot of Latter-day Saints down here, and the activity rates in the wards are higher than the church average. Remember, had the state of Deseret been established, I believe AZ would have been part of it.
Brad in Queen Creek:
The article said Phoenix. Not the far West Valley.
You don't seem to be from here, you must be a recent move int since you don't know the valley's geography.
For all you know it will be built up near the PV area in North Phoenix.
This means the drive to the Mesa Temple will be shorter for those in the far west valley.
Rich blessing are in store!
I think the Lord puts temples where HE wants them, not where everyone else wants them. I think this shows how much the Church is growing down there. I am so happy to have more temples in the Valley--I always new that my hometown was more like a little Utah than everyone thought. More Saints are moving in the southeast part of the Valley, so Gilbert makes sense, the older Saints get their temple in Gila Valley, and now one in Phoenix! Hooray!
The caravan marches on!!!
YAY, thank you!
As for what's going on.. the Mesa temple is CROWDED!! Even in the daytime on weekdays. That's what's going on!
People humbly and faithfully living the gospel.
Temples dotting the land! Prophecy coming true... I am very happy for the people whose lives will be blessed with this Temple....
For me I believe the prophet receives revelation conerning the temples that are built and if the Lord wants one in Pheonix then my suggestion is "DO IT". Tucson if you want a temple then take it to the Lord. I'm not from Arizona at all but I have enough faith that Lord is in charge. From visitng that area and it's growth I'm sure the need for a few more temples are necessary. As for myself I give thanks for each and every temple we are blessed with.
As a life long member who grew up and lives in Phoenix this is wonderful news. While in the Mesa AZ Temple early this morning it was great to see the excitement swell as this announcement was trickling out.
