Comments about ‘Council seeks diversity in prayers’

As a former city councilman in another city and state I find this stand of prayers to be childish and biased. It is a public meeting, not church. You want to pray, go to church. You want to pray at a council meeting, pray silently.

Do not impose your religious beliefs on the others.
No matter how you try to cover the stink of doing it, it is still garbage.

Russ- I am a council member in a neighboring community. I agree with your comment. A moment of silence before a meeting is more appropriate and not offensive. It gives you a small amount of time to collect your thoughts, silently pray or worry if your kids are getting dinner and doing homework while you are in your meeting.
