gliomas are the worst kind of brain cancer to get. They are fast and deadly. He will be lucky to have a year, probably much less. You don't need to pray for a recovery, because that won't happen. He will slowly lose his memory. He should resign right now.

My mother had a glioma, 4th stage, and lived 18 months. Although we had difficult times, some extremely so, these were only when she was highly stressed. They told us she would have memory problems towards the end, but our prayers were answered and that never happened. She always knew who we were and our relationship to her. Maybe the Lord will provide that same tender mercy through the many prayers the Kennedys will recieve at this time.

Would that more of the British type commrade between politicians of the opposite camps are more often than not closest of friends and confidants, showing that politics can not only be civil, but humane as well.

Would that more American politicians could be as exempilary as Kennedy and Hatch.

Interestingly, as a young Republican, I helped get Orrin elected in one of the closest senatorial elections in Utah history, but as I've gotten older have found the Republican party leaving me, and myself leaning more towards a Kennedy type outlook...

Go figure!

I have to be honest and say that I am not a Kennedy fan, but as a human being, I am very sorry for he and his family to be facing this. The Kennedy family has endured many hardships, it is really tragic for them, but they are strong people. I wish Sen. Kennedy and his family comfort and strength during this time. There is a time to take off the boxing gloves and this is one of those times. I also am not a great fan of Sen. Hatch, but I know of his closeness to Sen. Kennedy and the heartache he must feel, I am sorry for his pain. I do not like to see anyone hurt and suffer, be it a famous person or someone who is home alone typing a comment.

The problem with politicians becoming bosom buddies is that they are there to do work that frequently demands conflict and disagreement. Orrin Hatch began his career as a conservative firebrand, standing for principles that, while unpopular in Massachusetts, were usually very popular in Utah. As the Hatch/Kennedy friendship has "blossomed" the result is that Hatch has gotten considerably more liberal while Kennedy hasn't budged from his far left views. He is still a radical leftist, while we now have Orrin supporting things like halfway measures for socialized medicine and amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Ronald Reagan used to say that he didn't go to Washington to make friends with the alligators - he went there to drain the swamp.

One more argument for term limits. I wish both of them would retire. More than that, I wish both the voters of Masachusetts and Utah would retire them whether they want to or not.
