I'm a republican but will back Jim Matheson every time for keeping nuclear waste out of our state. Where is Hatch, Bennett, Cannon, and Bishop on this? As usual they are most likely sitting around with there fingers in the air trying to see which way the public opinion will lean in order to get votes.

Thank you Rep. Jim Matheson.

I don't understand what would limit them from importing more than the 5%. What would keep them to that limit. Energy Solutions is a business and will seek to profit the most from the space they have. Which I would imagine is part of the reason they are interested in storing the Italian waste. Also I agree that there is a limited amount of storage space and that it should be kept domestic.

If Hatch, Bennett, Cannon and Bishop have to put their fingers in the air to see which way public opinion leans on storing nuclear waste, maybe they need to remove their heads from their respective orifices.

Nuclear waste is already in your state. There actually is a landfill there. This is not keeping nuclear waste out it is just segregating the waste coming in.

I think Jim Matheson needs to get Washington DC out of our lives. We can decide how to govern ourselves. Matheson is just another big government politician. I thought he was going to be different. I guess that just what he told us to get elected.

this promise will give us more time to have our attorneys and our politician friends to look for loop-holes to get more access to nuclear waste in the future.......LOL!!
