As every reasonable person knows, there is a huge difference between disagreeing with someone and slandering someone. Sometimes in politics that line gets thin or abused. Like most who posted here, I almost always disagreed with Sen. Kennedy and I have had some negative reactions towards him for at his occasional berating unfairly those he disagreed with, Pres. Bush in particular. Like most of you, I too wish the Senator and his family the best.

I want to apologize on behalf of every Mormon who has hurt your feelings! Please forgive those of us who are not perfect. The vast majority of us do not hate other churches, including the Catholic church. I pray everyday that God will "forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." Someone has certainly trespassed against you and for that, most of us are very sorry.

Just a note that the cause of brain tumors are still currently unknown. For more information you can check out the various dedicated brain tumor websites.

I agree that Senator Kennedy deserves respect.

But does he deserve honor?

"Interesting to me how much emotion and name calling is going on here on the DesNews site. I just checked the comments on two other newspapers, not in Utah, and it's even worse. If anyone dares to even hint that Senator Kennedy was less than a perfect national hero, they are criticized even more strongly than on this site."

This site is heavily monitored by DNews staff. I would guess that more than half of all posts are dumped in the dust bin. Freedom of the press in this case means that the press has the freedom to decide what it will and will not print.

It's their "football" after all.
