That really stinks. I was looking forward to seeing Real Madrid again. Now that MLS signed an agreement with Barcelona to play in the US. Lets hope that RSL can get FC Barcelona in as a replacement. That would definitely bother Real Madrid.
I put off a vacation for that game. Can we get a new name now that we see the clubs aren't as close as we thought?
Can anything else go wrong for this team?
Can we get a new game now that we see soccer and the United States don't mix?
Big surprise here.
What a joke. RSL needs to get it together and earn some respect. I have attended almost every game and am starting to lose faith.
yay they are going to Colombia agains Santa fe :)
This whole deal is a scam...RSL and Checketts deserve each other, they are both lame.
Maybe this partnership isn't as strong as Checketts says it is. I think its a joke he chose to name our team after Real Madrid
So you don't get to see Madrid play half heartedly against RSL. Big deal. I would rather see us play Pachuca or another EPL team.
I forgot to mention that Real Madrid recently had to take out a short term loan from a Spanish bank for like $50 Million dollars despite being declared the "richest soccer club in the world". They attributed their cash shortfall this year to the loss of venue from the departure of David Beckham. I doubt they would draw 45,000 people in SLC again without Beckham and they probably figured that. With the US dollar taking a beating this is probably more of purely business decision on their part rather than "screwing David Checketts". We will probably get them back sometime soon, so dont blame the RSL front office for this one.
With all of the rumors, Real Madrid is going to try and buy Christiano Ronaldo from Man United, and I am sure they will need all of the money they can find. Good luck Madrid.
