- Dr. Who? not goals, if the ball isn't placed on the mans dome, he is worthless, and slow as tar.
- Mantilla, are you serious, put your freakin' hand down, did you think no one would see you reach out and grab it?
- Defensive Corner Kicks, do none of our defense know how to jump, or get a head on it. This is why I think Olave is a better center back than Mantilla.
- Sietz, when he gets back, I think its time for him to get the start.
- Cutler, meh, not bad, not good, just kind of there. Is that the kind of player we want starting in our midfield? Can't wait till Morales/ Sturgis are healed.
I love Beckerman's play. Defence was soft especially on the ends. Talk about poor passing? Whew. My daughter's U10 team takes care of the ball better than those supposed "professionals."
Love soccer, but raise the quality please.
New Stadium = very exciting, but what if we have to start all over, learning how to play on a wide field that isn't turf. What if the only reason we get a decent result at home is because Rice Eccles is so foreign to other teams.
Love, waiting and worried
It is too bad we had to trade Belouchy for Beckerman because the two of them together in midfield would do wonders. We need a creative attack minded midfielder to play alongside Beckerman and spark the offense. Andy Williams, Wengert, Talley, etc. just aren't cutting it.
If the team continues on this way I say replace Kreis as well. Referees aren't keeping us down. It is our lack of quality.
The thing that kills me the most about the loss last night is the complete lack of effort in the second half. I think Espindola was the only RSL player who actually sprinted in the second half, every one else was walking (with an occasional burst of slow jog.) Kreis promised to put a team of competitors on the field who would never stop scrapping for a win. After 45 minutes, there was only one team with any fight and they weren't wearing white. We weren't close enough to our marks in the midfield to even challenge for the ball. We weren't even close enough to foul.
Kreis has talked about playing the same way on the road as we do at home, but so far it has not happened at all. Instead of moving into their half and applying pressure to the ball, we sit back and give them all the space they need to build attack after attack. That was the most frustrating game I've seen since 2006. Let's hope Sturgis and Morales get healthy soon so we can put some wins together.
