Comments about ‘Former FLDS sect member gets favorable ruling’

It's all about the money.
Back in the early 80's I worked in a cabinet shop with about a dozen other guys. I was the only person there who wasn't a member of their church. (They were 7th Day Adventists...fine folks) Anyway, I was very uncomfortable and it was apparent that they were uncomfortable as well although they did their best not to ostrasize me and I did my best to fit in.
I don't blame an employer for wanting a good "fit" where an employee is concerned.
In this situation, it seems that the guy was suing the very people he was trying to go to work for.
I can't imagine that creating a very positive work environment. He sounds like just another vindictive FLDS member who couldn't/wouldn't live his faith so he's gonna try to milk some money out of them. That seems to be an ugly fad as of late.

Basic civil rights law--an employer can't refuse to hire/fire/take any adverse action against an employee/applicant because of religion, sex, color, national origin, race, disability, or age (40 or over). Sometimes it's not about $$$, it's just about doing what's right. Don't judge what you don't know anything about until you've read the six-year history of this case -- you have no basis for saying "as of late." This happened back in 2000.
