My wife and I visited the Kirtland area a while ago, and had the pleasure of meeting this missionary couple. They made our visit very enjoyable, and we're sorry for the family's loss.
My family lived next door to the Deschamps for many years in Orem, Utah. My oldest daughter used to babysit the Deschamps's oldest two girls when they were little. They were dear friends and neighbors. My prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
Our prayers are with you, also, Deschamps. We have known the Deschamps for many, many years, also. They were our neighbors (Chipman's) that we grew up with in Orem, too, so our prayers to you, as well, Deschamps - especially our closest friend, dear Dave. We've been thinking of you all week, Dave. Peter emailed all of your old high school friends and let everyone find out. Pete also works with someone in your family who let him know the morning you must have found out, so we knew even before it on the news. Our sympathy with you. Remember you're mom is doing wonderful - she is in heaven. We know it. Bless you, Deschamps.
I dont know you but I do know what it is like to loose a mom. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother and wife. I just lost my mom two months ago and it was very tuff and sometimes still difficult to believe she is gone. While my son was serving his mission it crossed my mind a few times that I may never see him again, that anything could happen, but that if I had to lose him I would rather it be in the service of the Lord than anything else. I am grateful that he was able to come home to me after a successful mission. I am also grateful for the time that your mom and dad were able to give in serving the Lord and to know your mom is now home with Heavenly Father. I hope this will give you comfort. God bless all your family during this difficult time.
You sister in the gospel,
Bonnie
Sorry to hear of your loss. I want to find out if we are related. My mother's father was David Deschamps from Malad, Idaho. Are you related to this family? We are serving in New Zealand and want to hear from you. Thanks
My son Randy, and my granddaughter, Rachel, recently spent time visiting with Elder and Sister Deschamps at
Kirtland. They live near there and were bringing family to the Visitors Center. Brother Deschamps was our bishop when they lived in Orem, and had a great positive influence on my children. Karen served in the Relief Society Presidency with me, so I know of their dedication and commitment to the Gospel and to their families. Our prayers are with all of you. I will send pictures taken on May 4, just a couple of weeks ago, at the Visitors Center.
All our family are mourning along with you.
Sincerely and with love, Betty Jo Davis
