All here want to believe they are pedophiles yet evidence suggests that there are no legal Texas marriages and that "spiritual" marriages were within legal age. Those records also show that some FLDS are monogamous and another shows a man in his 60's as married to a woman well into her 70's.
No, I am not FLDS nor would I desire their lifestyle for me, but at the same time I do not believe we should inflict our values on them nor yours on me.
I already corrected your post on the SL Tribune. Please quit spouting off false information.
This Willie Jessop is NOT, I repeat NOT William Timpson Jessop. It's Glade Jessop's son.
what exactly have any of the polys done for the children. they have millions of dollars, why dont they use some of it to make sure the children have some extras.
if they really loved them, they would be begging to send money to the shelters where they are.
to them people are crule to others that are not just like them,or are different in some way.
Congradultions Texans you have hurt 468 inocent babies/children all under false colors of trying to
protect the children and will never be able to remove the hurt and scares that you have put on them
may GOD have mercy on your souls !!!
It is a most serious charge. To read people trying to equate child rape with: a, b, c, d, e, f... and excusing it is depressing.
Rape is rape. Old men figuring out a system in which they can jump young girls every day that they wish, is a very criminal system, whether you call it a church, a cult, a group, or flds. There is no excuse. So quit trying to make one, people.
It is ok to say the state trumps rape. It has to.
Either way, you're going in.
Personally, I'd plea to the bigamy charge. I can't imagine child rapists are a very popular bunch in the jailhouse.
I doubt that the FLDS are paedophiles, as defined by 'love' for prepubescent children. They have been waiting for the children to reach puberty. Marriage to the 14 year old girls appears to be more of a way to control who they marry, as it removes the choice from the girls. A true paedophile would stop 'loving' the child as she aged. These 'men' appear to continue to care for the girls, even as they reach the advanced age of say, 22 or 23.(The girls, not the 'men') Misogynistic is the more apt definition of their culture.
Now, as the father of a 14 year old girl, if any boy even tries to date my daughter, he is going to meet some rather fierce opposition. And if he persisits, the source of the opposition is going to ask for help from her parents.
I HATE what is being done to the women and children by Texas.
Be a hero to the women/children....step forward and offer yourselves as the culprits.
It is the fair thing to do.
Perhaps you can make a deal with the prosecutors to release the women and children. You can at least help showcase this Constitutional Rights Crises as what it is: Denial of Rights to the victims.
YOU are the Gulity! YOU are the wrong persons here! Offer your DNA. Confess if you are one of the perverted. Be a MAN, finally!
YOU CAN be a HERO to your Families: Step forward and offer yourselves as the ones who are WRONG!
Do What Is Right...Let THe Consequence Follow!
You can do it!...an LDS man who is sick of (guilty) FLDS men!
For starters: It's NOT "the" children. It's "their" children - the "polys" children.
These children WANTED to garden - not because some well paid state providers have "shown them" what "gardening" is - but because it's something they learned to love doing with their parents.
Do state providers claim to have "taught them to sing" also? How about loving God? Did they teach them to be well mannered also?
THESE CHILDREN BELONG WITH (and TO) THEIR PARENTS.
If government can "take children" and from the time they are "taken" claim to "own them" thereby supporting the billion dollar "child welfare industry" . . .
then government DOES INDEED perceive "children" AS property - as "something" that NOW - with NO TRIAL of parents - with NO CONVICTION FIRST of parents - belongs to them.
Now, "plans" are presented to the parents - telling them what they are "required" to do - to "even have a chance" of having their children returned.
Infants and children were "taken" by CPS for "suspicions" of abuse.
Now - with NO TRIAL - everything proceeds as though - the parents were already CONVICTED.
I dont understand how people who own 17000 acres of land could need donations. sell an acre or 2.
I agree with the guy who said for people who shun the out side world as being evil its amazing that they are now willing to ask the president for help. And why would they want the money of people who are evil???????
CPS uses illegal forces to get their way. CPS is illegal, too, not following the laws of the land, either, under the guise of "child protection".
Check out Texas' history and think about how much they've harmed rather than helped children that have gotten in their snare.
This is a big deal, and everybody's Constitutional rights are on the line here. What can the state get by with? Looks like a lot.
I laugh at your title for yourself when you say
"THESE CHILDREN BELONG WITH (and TO) THEIR PARENTS
curious to know how any one has freedom if they belong to someone.
NO ONE BELONGS TO ANYBODY. you have your children and for an all to brief a time they are with you then one day you look around and they have flown the nest. They never belong to you.
The FLDS trying to use Mother's Day as a plan to make the world feel sorry for them. Fact of the matter is the 'so called Mother's' denied their children. The children never knew WHO the birth mom was. So you have the audacity to toss a tizzy fit now??? They could of worked with CPS instead & should of. Instead they feel like they should be treated several notches above everyone else / its not happening & they're just a number in the system. Fact is they had a choice & the moms denied the kids....I ask was it worth it????
Children to not BELONG with or to their parents.
You perhaps are misguided.......SLAVERY was ABOLISHED.
Children are a gift from God.
Rarely is a child denied its birthright from its Mom.
The Mothers could & should of co-operated with CPS. They thought they knew it all & these are the consequences associated with such behavior.
--What are FLDS weddings like? Does Jessop possibly think the parents of the bride want distraction from a bunch of incomprehensible rabble?
--Aside from the interrupt the wedding issue, these folks'social sutdies curriculum is pretty weak if they have so little understanding of basic principles like separation of powers, not to mention the President's own history of heavy firepower rahter than negotiating finesse.
--Mother's Day is just a nice touch. I cannot decide whether these woman are hard-working heroines or victims of collective brainwashing. I COMPLETELY sympathize with their concern about their kids, but if they only celebrate Warren Jeffs' birthday, pleading their case on Mother's Day seems cynical and opportunistic.
--To the poster who suggested Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton get involved, I want to see the diplomacy that would make that happen. I believe the folks who say the FLDS are practically white supremacists. For that reason alone, I am not sure they would be on top of Jackson's and Sharpton's list of people they could help even if asked.
Send the letter, you need the sympathy after what you've done, FLDS. Last but not least, admit to the fact you messed up and bad.
I am NOT a member of the FLDS church.
I AM aware (and was) that they do NOT recognize Mother's Day as a holiday.
I DO celebrate this holiday.
Ironically, it IS "normal society" that claims to "honor" motherhood with this holiday.
While many of you are thrilled to continue vilifying these people - SOME OF US - are of a different mindset.
Some of those - of that different mindset - believe strongly in prayer.
It was to "those" like-minded people - who ALSO have participated in these comments - that my post was directed.
Sorry for the confusion.
"how anyone has freedom if . . ."? Me too OMG me too. That's my point.
Once the parents have been "set aside" minors then "BELONG TO" the STATE.
RE KAT: "Children do not BELONG with or to their parents. You perhaps are misguided.......SLAVERY was ABOLISHED."
Once the parents have been "set aside" minors then "BELONG TO" the STATE.
From the time the state takes possession of minors, the state (any state) - on a "per case" basis - then receives lucrative ongoing endowments of funding from the federal government - until the minor becomes "of age" (at which time said minors are "tossed out" of the "foster care community").
Since infants and children are taken - against the will of their parents - and then used to "produce money" for the state - the term "slavery" would apply.
It is you who are misguided.
Slavery has NOT been abolished - merely renamed.
Nobody owns me!!!! NOBODY!!!!
The children could go to grandparents homes if they weren't a part of the clan at the FLD! The state could of contacted family members to take the kids until things were sorted out!
No it is not slavery! No way / no shape / no form!
The FLDS parents did EVERYTHING in there power to cause any & every problem they could to make sure the kids were NOT IDENTIFIED! They changed there own wrist bracelets & the kids! Now crying wolf........ sorry I don't buy it!!!!
Q: Every time someone from your community is questioned whether or not you feel it is abuse to have a teenage girl pregnant or married, you all dance around the question. If you all have nothing to hide, why not give a straight forward answer?
A: Rulon Keate "It does not apply to us. We have little boys."
A: Willie Jessop "Its a broad question"
WHAT?????
Mr. Keate and Mr. Jessop, you both danced around the question AGAIN. This is the same as saying you have something to hide.
Wouldn't it just be a lot easier and more cost effective for Texas just to return the kids to their families? A contingent of armed guards could be posted at the YFZ ranch to control egress. Video cameras could be mounted in classrooms and meeting areas so that the CPS could constantly monitor any teaching of illegal belief systems.
Soda pop vending machines and video games could be installed for the kids, and fathers would have check in with key cards to visit appropriate and legal partners nightly.
Since the 2001 anthrax scare in Washington and New York, people attempting to deliver letters to the White House or other top government properties typically are turned away. Secret Service agents do not accept letters on behalf of the president, either. Think this Jessop is a liar.
So stop with the sympathy attempts. We believe you to be hapless sheep following a crazy prophets directives and caring much more about yourselves than you do about your children. Otherwise you wouldnt choose your religion over your own children, which you do every time you let the prophet determine your childs fate and banish your own children from your lives. And if you really cared about your children, you would give them the tools needed to survive in the real world instead of trying to imprison them in your little group. Ignoring child brides, abuse, etc you are simply not good parents, as you do not let your children become their own person. Texas is being kinder to your children than you could possibly understand.
This is all unbelievable to me at times. These people follow the teachings of a "Prophet" who has managed to get himself put in jail for being an accomplice to rape. Then he has charges against him from a nephew who accuses him of sodomizing him numerous times when he was a small child. He himself has said that he was "immoral" with a sister and a daughter years ago.
And on top of that, he has managed to get the FLDS listed as a "hate" group with the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Why would anyone have any kind of respect for him at all??? Let alone listen to what he teaches.
GIVE THEM BACK to their parents. THEN go in and investigate the older girls and find out the truth if they have suffered any improprieties.
Those little mothers look like good ones to me.
TEXAS GIVE THE CHILDREN BACK!!!
