Basketball is great----but PRO basketball? Who cares?

Apparently you care, Bart, because you're reading and commenting. I still prefer college bball, but have had fun following the Jazz for 20 years now.

Didn't know Memo was hurting - glad to hear he's playing through it. DWill is doing the same. Good opportunity for the other players and the bench to step up.

The Lakers are playing well overall, and are a tough draw for the Jazz. It's been good to see the Jazz keep playing hard even during the Kobe moments in LA when it would have been easy to fold.

Bart you're a loser. If you don't care about pro basketball then why are you reading this story in the first place?!

Comments are great -- but BART? Who cares what he thinks?

This is the Playoffs. This is what basketball is all about. College ball no one can hit an open shot other than one player.

NBA you gotta love it baby!

Thanks for the top notch reporting!!

Attn LA Lakers: Okur's achilles is sore-take adavantage of him.

What kind of lame sports reporter tells this kind of stuff before an athletic contest.

Great! Now, Okur is going to try to compensate and we're going to get pushed in the back even more! Seriously.
Stupid | 10:13 a.m. May 11, 2008
LOL this is funny!!!! ATTN- LAKERS FAN.. if they r going to play it means they are playing it out.. aka it doesnt hurt anymore.. AKA HES FINE!!!! He wont let anyone beat up on him.. What kind of lame person would think of something like that to say! HA that is just like saying.. Kobe's fingers hurt.. so we can take advantage of him.. obviously hes fine if hes playing.. it hurts but hes fine.. Stop being so stupid!!! Lets be real here.. Kobe is one of the best in NBA.. Deserves a MVP... has been playing more of a team player this year.. and will most likely finish off with more wins and losses over Jazz. Its stupid to fight. And if you like College ball you should like any ball.. Whether its high school to NBA. Lets be real here people!

You cry about getting pushed in the back. The rest of your kind cry about hard fouls. Yet if you watch the games with your blinders off, you'll realize that the Jazz get those calls against them. But keep watching, when the Lakers are guilty of the same things, or holding the screeners (most common), all is well.
Post your address and I'll send you some tissues.
Fouls | 10:59 a.m. May 11, 2008
The Jazz has comitted more fouls than any team in the entire NBA. So stop blaming the Lakers if they get foul calls the Jazz have been doing it all year.

The key point is that the Jazz get fouls CALLED against them. The Jazz deserve nearly all the calls against them.

The Lakers get fewer fouls called.

End of story.

Why don't the Jazz take out a full page ad in the L.A. Times about Okur's Achilles tendon injury??? If they double team him the 3 point line won't be a best bet for a basket. Nothing like giving away tips to the opponent, making their job a little easier.

As if Memos heel was a watergate-like secret. Now the cat is out of the bag! Oh no, now the Lakers know our only weakness. Give me a break. This is professional sports and there is a LOT of money at stake, you better believe each team is well aware of the opponents injury issues well before the media gets wind.

Lakers getting fewer calls? Are you kidding me? See the over-time of Game 4. The calls were ridiculously lopsided. Refs are trying their best to get Lakers to the finals.

Fouls,
Yes, The Jazz generally are called more fouls than most teams.

But when you see your Fakers getting away with it. Then I have a problem

First three games:
Lakers shot 126 free throws
Utah shot 78

Enough said.
I agree | 9:23 p.m. May 11, 2008
As for the Lakers getting calls in overtime, you have to agree with that!! Derek Fisher slamming in to Dwill and getting a block on Dwill. Terrible call. Vujicic got a phanton elbow from Korver after he was reaching like crazy. Seriously the Lakers get SO MANY CALLS. The NBA wants Celtics-Lakers and any team that beats one of those to teams is going to beat that team and the refs.

Oh and Dwill is a stud. Wish Boozer had half his heart. Honestly if Boozer would have just blocked out Odom like he should have he wouldn't have been able to tip that Kobe miss in and the game would havve been over in regulation

Anonymous, even if the Jazz took out a full page ad, I wouldn't worry. Judging from the comments from Laker fans in this forum, most of them are not literate enough to understand. (at least not a Utah accent.)
