If a child is in a movie, does the director allow the parent to come in and make decisions? I think not! Same thing with this. Whoever runs the show has a right to kick parents off and I am a parent also. I would not dream of taking the spotlight off my child to have it put on me. Shame on this freak out of a dad!

gotta love the hype of Idol in Utah. this is THE biggest gig since the olympics and everyone wants in on the action including the GUV, petey carroon and so on and so forth...funny times...but great voice nonetheless by David Archuleta.

Jim--the problem isn't that the DNews ran it but that it was an Associated Press story. The paper relies on them for accurate news. This ran in papers across the country and on Yahoo and is right now on the front page of CNN.

Its funny to read these comments. Every one is so extreme in their opinion.
I'm Sorry | 10:02 p.m. May 11, 2008
I'm sorry to all you people who are worried about global warming, which is delayed ten years, and about the high cost of gas and about the US being at war and about flowers being plucked out of the ground and given to people and about animals being used to feed people. I am not sure if I covered it all, I am sorry that you people have to spend 24/7 upset over these issues and can't take an hour out of your day and enjoy music and the success of young people.

According to A.I. spokesperson Andrea Jamison, the rumor about Jeff A. being banned from backstage and rehearsals is false. "The rumor that surfaced yesterday on an entertainment Web site about Jeff A are categorically false," said Ms. Jamison. "As part of normal procedures at A.I., all family members of contestants and personal coaches are prohibited from participating in rehearsals during the final two weeks of the competition and the finale.""The ban',applies to all A.I. family members.

The Deseret News is just a tool. This story is designed to build ratings.

I see. Well, this appears to be yet another example to inaccurate reporting.

TMZ = Gossip = Rumors Hm..could this rumor been set up by a Cook fan? Just a thought...
David has inspired many peoples lives through his singing and song choices. I have read many testimonals through blogs confirming this. Including mine; I live in Mi., a depressed economy, people are losing jobs by the masses to 3rd world countries. It is hard to pay for our children, our food and our homes. I listen to David sing and it helps me get throuh another day...For this...I thankyou David.

Pam, why would a David Cook fan start a rumor that hurts Archuleta? Cook has no need to feel threatened by "Archie" as he is the better contestant (more well rounded, polished, and talented over all).

Cook doesn't need to win this to get a recording contract. Infact, as I've said all along, it's best NOT to win on this show... it's better for you to come in 2nd or even 3rd. Stay on the show as long as possible to gain as much free MEGA publicity as you can and then your career just BLOOMS without the help of the automatic contract/CD the winner gets.

Let Archuleta win this, hope he does... as he needs some extra guidence. And after he wins things will get really interesting as the battles between his controling stage Dad and the "Idol" producers/record company over David's career and the content of his debut CD ensue.

No one can ever judge a person by hearsay. David's dad
seems a nice guy. however, In order for me to believe
the news, I need to hear Jeff's side of story first
which is not allowed at this time. David look very
much love by his parent or he will not turn out to be this awesome person if this stories are true about Stage dad and all.
