Quick, get her to the burn center, stat!

My 14 year old daughter wanted to read these books. They seem to be very popular at the junior high level. I read the first two prior to letting my daughter read them. They are boring. Repetition seems to be the constant. I do no think they cause harm, but they certainly do not add to one's intellect.

Twighlight is not very well written, and a little sappy. I like The Arcadian and The Pact.

I adore Stephanie Meyer. Her characters and the worlds she creates are so real, the stories beautiful and thrilling... but paced in a realistic way. I love that today's Mr. Darcy is a vampire :-)

Genius you spelled 'Twilight' wrong.. & I don't think you can fit any more intellect in that big head of yours.

I love Twilight. The Host was even better! I still can't decide. The mixture of love and fantasy was amazing. It was different then most books I read.

Her books are amazing. Even if she used the word "perfect" a few too many times, it was overall such a breath of fresh air for romance. Orson Scott Card is right - Mr. Darcy is a Vampire. I'm one of the older people reading the books, I never even read Harry Potter (yet- now I think I will) and I loved the experience. I post about the books on my blog, have pre-ordered the next book and look forward to the movie. What's more, it has given me something to talk about with the young people.

I don't read romance novels because they're all about "incredible sex" and I see romance as so beyond that. Thanks to Stephenie for finding a way to address normal sexual tension while maintaining values - the main character even accepts her "punishment" with maturity. She does speak up when her father attempts to punish her without cause. She deals with her parents divorce while making the best of her situation. While this may be part of the fantasy, teaching teens this kind of maturity is a good thing for sure. And, abstinence is possible - even if he isn't a vampire!

The world of Stephanie Meyer fans has OCD (obsessive cullun disorder). We love her and her stories, and the way her romances are filled with sexual tension... but even the slightest kisses are not thrown around lightly. I love that about her stories... and the superhuman way that they keep saving Bella's life... that's always romantic to us ;-)
