Really the only marathon the state needs is the St. George Marathon.
@Zona Zone: The evidence suggests you're wrong. Look at the popularity of the SLC marathon, half, 5k, and bike tour and you'll see that there's clearly not enough capacity in St. George to fill the demand. Besides, St. George is kind of a sad little race anyway - the only reason people do it is because it's the easiest Boston qualifier in the country.
I'm glad you think the SLC marathon can go away. Now tell that to all the people who are training hard to get ready for a race that may be pulled out from under them.
