Will they do it for similar policies?
**'Romney Maintained Massachusetts Contraception Requirement That Mirrors Obamas Rule' - By Igor Volsky - Think Progress - 02/07/12
'In 2002 the very same year Romney campaigned for governor of Massachusetts the state enacted a contraceptive equity law that REQUIRED insurers that provide outpatient benefits to cover hormone replacement therapy and ALL FDA-approved contraceptive methods.' article
or is it only the one's that Obama does?
"...He called it "ironic that Mitt Romney is criticizing the president" for a policy that Carney described as identical to the one in place in Massachusetts...".
"Ironic", is one possible description of Romney's comment.

For once - I agree with Gov. Romney.
He was right as Governor,
but he will spin like a Top and Flip-Flop to appease the uber-Far-right-wingers he needs to win the GOP nomination.
Sad.
I could've voted for him if he'd stayed the Old Mitt Romney.
I don't like the Tea-Party re-invented, New and Improved Mitt Romney, and his Flip-Flopping, Wishy-Washiness at all. It shows a lack of Integiry and conviction.
Employees at these Catholic institutions must have been okay with the way the policy was before--otherwise they would have quit and gone to work somewhere else.
Why, with all thats wrong in the country, is President Obama intent on vowing to fix something that wasn't broken, and ignoring things he should be addressing?

I disagree that the system is 'not broken'...
when a x17 year old girl can NOT get brith control, and a viable option....
is to pay a man to BEAT her so severely, that she looses the baby.
Over half of Americans already live in the 28 States that require insurance companies cover contraception: Several of these States like North Carolina, New York, and California have identical religious employer exemptions. Some States like Colorado, Georgia and Wisconsin have NO exemption at all. For example, since 1999 Georgia requires all employers who offer health insurance to cover contraceptives.
People complain because the government does not spend tax payer money wisely. This issue is the result of getting equal return on monies allocated to various organization providing health care. The government is saying: "If you want to use our money, we expect you to use it in certain ways." If private religious institutions want the federal funding they should be willing to do what is required to get it. If they believe their moral values and beliefs are the more important factor... it simple... refuse the gov't money! Then, since they are not receiving the benifit of federal money, they, as a private religious organization can institute whatever form of health care they choose.
This is not an attack on religion... it is not an attack on any amendment... it's an effort to get the most value for the dollar given out. Isn't that what most Americans want?
Individuals have religious freedoms, corporations do not. Corporations are not individuals, so freedom of religion does not apply.
Pagan-- "I disagree that the system is 'not broken'...when a x17 year old girl can NOT get birth control"
Oh Pagan.
I know you're always trying to rattle someone's cage, and I know heterosexuality isn't what you know much about.
But there is a thing called a drug store(or a grocery store or convenience store) where for the price of a couple of dollars, birth control is available, no questions asked.
Congress approval rating hits a all time low of 10%. Obama's approval surging past 50%. Who do you think will win. Vote these GOP clowns out in 2012. We need democrats to do things
"Influential" Males worldwide:
Where are your thoughts and plans for the jobs, the economy, housing foreclosures, foreign policy, etc.?
Birth control is now taking center stage?
Presidential candidates, religious leaders, and US legislators better be ready for the same angry onslaught that Komen has, and is now receiving.
Women in the year 2012 will not be shoved back to living a life where males and religions are making the decisions about our bodies and our lives.
28 states mandate these insurance protections. Depaul University, the largest Catholic school, offers prescription birth control coverage. The GOP is making a mountain out of a moe hill. 98% of women use contraception. Welcome to the 21st century you backwards idealogical dreamers. Wake up america. The GOP is GONE. Gone LOONEY. From the presidential candidates to AM radio talk hosts. They are GONE.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." -The Oath of Office of President of the United States
Are amendments not considered to be part of the Constitution, or did Obama just neglect to read the Bill of Rights?
In two back-to-back paragraphs, the author states:
"In late 2005, Romney required all Massachusetts hospitals, including Catholic ones, to provide emergency contraception to rape victims."
"Romney said he did not support the Massachusetts law, which passed despite his veto."
So which is it? Did Romney veto this bill? If so, then the statement that "Romney required ..." is blatantly false.
So I'm left trying to figure out whether Romney indeed vetoed this bill or not. The initial statement by the author leads us to believe that Romney single-handedly made this law. He didn't even need the help of the Massachusetts legislature.
Journalism at its best. Confusing. Liberally biased. Anti-Romney. Dishonest.
One more thing. It is one thing to provide women with the tools to avoid conception, so that a life is not created. It is something else to provide them with tools to destroy a life once created.
This policy is not just to prevent the creation of life, but it forces hospitals, etc., to provide means of destroying life. The latter should be outlawed in all cases, not just in religiously sponsored situations.
Good for Congress

This, is why there is an arguemnt.
When does life, start.
For the 'Pro-life' crowd, this has ever been a shifting stance.
First it was brain activity.
Then, it was heart beat.
Now, it is the NIGHT AFTER, conception.
Well?
Which is it?
If the pro-life crowd cannot even agree when life STARTS...
why should anyone else pander to their ever-changing stances?
Go ahead.
Tell me you never celebrated a 'birth'...
day?
Pagan,
The fact that we celebrate birthdays does not prove that life starts at birth. I'm sure any mother can testify that the baby is living long before birth. The exact moment when life actually starts is tricky to pinpoint, but that does not automatically mean that birth is when life starts.
I recommend govt.mandated pharmcological impotence for all men unless they are married.
Why should male-dominated govt.and male-dominated religion determine healthcare choices for women?
Women should have equal right and authority to make those decisions for themselves.
