Pete Ashdown, who is also running for Senate, doesn't carry any of the baggage of Hatch, Liljenquist, or Herrod. Take off the R blinders and consider the candidate on his own merits, not just on party affiliation.
Mike Lee know how to obstruct and attempt to bankrupt the economy. Keep Hatch instead of another super right wing extremist.
People vote for the party because it is the philosophy they vote for a Republican senate. A party of people can do more than an individual can.
Mike Lee does not know how government is supposed to work. He does think he knows better than 99 other Senators, the entire House of Representatives, the Executive Branch, and the Judicial Branch. Wait! Doesn't that sound like a despot in training?
If we want honest, good government, we need people like Pete Ashdown.
Wow! This is really encouraging...someone who actually checked on a candidates voting record before deciding who to vote for! Votes do have consequences. Great message.
Actually, full disclosure rules are one of the main reasons we have grid-lock in Gov, and polarization. Unintended consequenses.
Wow! KDave doesn't want honesty in government, that it is better to do things in secret and keep it from the people? This is an example of conservative thought being the precursor to totalitarianism.

I think I'd rather have gridlock than have my government doing their business behind closed doors.
Do you think we can't see the show they put on in front of the cameras? It will only help clear the gov't of power seekers and irrational party fanatics.
Lee? Really?
I received the same mailer. It was sent to all registered Republicans who attended the last caucus meetings in 2010.
As for Dan Liljenquist, he WAS my past Senator up on Capitol Hill. I had already decided he does not represent me because he initially voted for a re-apportionment plan that would have split Bountiful up the middle of 500 South and divided his own Senate District between the two Congressional Districts.
His support for HR477 is another reason to reject this guy for the U.S. Senate; he will NOT listen to or properly represent his constituents.
The letter by Steve Setzer of Springville is the real reason we have gridlock. We have 2 Senators from Utah that both believe that they and they alone are qualified to read, understand and interpet "original intent" of the Constitution and ignore the Preamble to give it context. That this discussion includes 3 radicals and a sleepy eyed octogenarian only is offensive and why we have so few Utahns participate in the voting process. Mr Setzer, open your eyes and look under a few rocks and I think you can find an adequate alternative.
I'm not sure I'm happy about any of the candidates mentioned but there are seven or eight in all interested in replacing Hatch.
Please, DesNews, could we have ongoing information about all the candidates starting soon? Then encourage a forum discussion. So often we operate very nearly in the dark and then end up with another bad apple
Seriously people. If your sick of Hatch, and look at the other options on the R side and don't think they are very palatable, look into Pete Ashdown. He is a small business owner(Xmission)with reasonable ideas about immigration(punish businesses that violate the law, streamline the process, no amnesty) and abortion (prevent the reason for abortion with better tools to help stop teen pregnancy and teach people who are pregnant how to deal with their new kid)You can find a reasonable candidate without an R next to their name.......
hmmmm, let's see, on the basis of voting for one bad bill, would that also disqualify Hatch? After 36 yeasr in the Senate, I wonder if he ever voted for a bad bill? hmmmm. . . Anybody out there want to contribute to that thought? I'll start. Can you say TARP?
Lee, Hatch Who cares. These Greedy ol party people are so out of touch with the rest of the nation. So is the Utah legislature. Eliminate contraception and sex education?? Our kids are already the worst educated in the nation. UTAH is a laughingstock. We keep sending these GOP clowns to washington. Lets elect a democrat. Someone who believes in Science, not the toothfairy. One can dream.
