Ok, the U.S. Senate has overwhelmingly passed a bill that would prohibit members of Congress, the president and many other public officials from using the inside information they may gain on businesses, government or any other source to benefit financially. But what about the US House?. Do they drag their feet in the sands of time again?. Was there a up and down vote on both floors yet?. Did Obama then sign the Bill?. That's what we want to hear. Full disclosure from Congress ought to be automatic. It should be instantaneous. There's really no excuse for not disclosing thing's like this to the American people. LET the cat out of the bag, of true American Exceptionalism" (aka) before bow down in a final grab to K Street and Wall Street Corporate sneakiness, outright-scams and con-games. Koch Brother's and ReaganBushClintonBush-villes economics, deregulated for kickbacks for the Koch Brothers and Grover Norquist, in their "Field Of Dreams," (of corn and sugar cane), with more corruption, and "crony capitalism." Nov. 2012 is a long way off. They got time to do this, and put "real teeth" into this law to.

That's my truthful views.

What's yours?.

They didn't get elected to make themselves rich. Any money that is gained from insider trading should be divided among the people.

Too little too late. If this bill is signed, then let's require that everyone of these reps are investigated for profiteering over the years while in Congress. If evidence is found, then all monies should be returned an frankly they should be heavily fined and forced to resign and/or NOT be re-elected and never serve the people again, on any level. Next up, Term Limits. No pension plan for these guys. You serve, and then you leave and re-enter the workforce and not as a lobbyist. There is no peddling your experience to the highest bidder. If they want health care and social security, first, they pay for their own health care not the taxpayers and social security not civil retirement plans. Next, get rid of all honorariums, junkets, gifts, and lobbyists and special interest groups.

Most of sg's suggestions are themselves unconstitutional, but it's amazing to me that a law preventing members of Congress to profit from inside information hasn't been on the books for about 70 years already.

Why would the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly pass the a bill prohibiting insider trading? It is against their own self interest. Here is a possible reason: because it either won't work or there is a work around. How about telling your friend, brother, relative, surrogate partner, off-shore financial manager, etc. how to profit. I simply do not trust our elected crooks.

The senate passed the bill. Now lets see the obstructionist house vote, if they even bring it up. The problem is we need to kick the GOP out of the house and senate. Go Obama 2012
