3 total NCAA tournament wins in 30 years. What a program.

This team will lose at least 1 more regular season. BYU's never been very good in conference tournaments.

Enjoy the NIT

P.S. Yes Utah is terrible right now. Two studs coming in for next season. Several big guys returning from mormon missions.

However, Utah will win another NCAA game before byu will.

Chris B: Just perusing the NCAA Rankings yesterday. 2 WCC teams and 2 MWC teams are ranked in the top 25. The mighty PAC 12 has 0.

"Utah is terrible right now"

NO, Utah has been terrible since sweaterman left SEVEN years ago!!!

and counting

since 2005-06
100-111(57%) overall, 46-60(43%) in conference, FIVE losing seasons
only one NCAA tournament, an embarrassing loss in the opening round

Before spouting off about your next NCAA tournament win, why don't U first try finishing above .500.

actually, that should have been 47% overall

it's hard to conceive of being so inept for so long, but there U have it

It is painful to see a once great program grovel around well below mediocrity. Chris B has alot to say about his U team. Just makes him look foolish.

However, odds are stacked against BYU if they receive an NCAA tournament invite. They will be matched with a very good team and most likely struggle in the game.

Chris B:

Actually the question is will Utah have another transfer before BYU wins an NCAA tourney game?

5 losing seasons in 7 years

3 coaches in 5 years

8 transfers last year

What a team.

What a program.

hang in there lil band of transfers!

I love having both Winder and Abouo starting. They are solid defenders and Winder has been one of my favorites since he was recruited (even as a Red Shirt).

The key for the Cougars is the "want to." I hope they build on the energy created from the Gonzaga game!

Chris B you are absolutely hilarious. You must sit back for days on end trying to think up some put down of BYU. You, however, failed to look at the last 6 years at Utah. Pitiful is the only word that comes to my mind. If memory serves me correct the only invite you have had in the last 6 years was to the CBI tournament. I may be wrong, but I think I am correct. The CBI took those who did not get an invite to the NCAA and the NIT. That means there were about 100 teams that were invited, then the CBI took the bottom feeders and had them play.

WOW, that must have been quite the prestige for the UTES to get an invite to the CBI party. I not sure what CBI stands for. Was it Conference Basketball Invitational, College Basketball Invitation or Crummy Basketball Invitational? And the gaul of it all they claim the winner is the National Champion. HAHAHAHA.

Chris B make sure you do not throw out your shoulder or dislocate in patting yourself on the back for your astute observations about Ute Basketball.

"3 total NCAA tournament wins in 30 years. What a program"-Chris B.

Actually Chris B, your erroneous information is wrong again. You continue to misconstrue facts to either make yourself feel better or put down BYU's program (probably both).

Here are the real facts going back 30 years to 1982: Total wins: 7 (not 3 Chris). If you go back one more year to 1981 (Danny Ainge year), then they havea total of 10 wins since 1981. Point of the matter Chris is that you never tell the full truth and you do this to help yourself feel better about the dismal Ute program. This seems to be a pattern with you.

Here are BYU's stats in the NCAA tourney (courtesy of ESPN) since 1981:

2011-record 2-1 Defeated Wofford in first round, 74-66
Defeated Gonzaga in second round, 89-67
Lost to Florida in regional semifinal, 83-74

2010 1-1 Defeated Florida in first round, 99-92
Lost to Kansas State in second round, 84-72

2004 0-1 Lost to Syracuse in first round, 80-75

2003 0-1 Lost to Connecticut in first round, 58-53

2001 0-1 Lost to Cincinnati in first round, 84-59

1995 0-1 Lost to Tulane in first round, 76-70

BYU's only chance to make the tourney is not have any bad losses. They can only lose to Gonzaga or they are out, and would have to win at least two games in the tourney to look good and one of those must be vs. St. Mary's or Gonzaga. Even then I don't they'll have an impressive resume.

They are 2-0 vs. that so called "champion" PAC conference and led vs. Baylor much of the game. This team has a glimmer of greatness, but I think playing a few games in the NIT is a better fit for their talent and experience level. Team is just too young and I can't see them making any noise in the big tourney this year. Rose is the best coach in the state hands down, so anything can happen.

I guess if their opponents continue to play like Gonzaga did, it's anyone's title for the taking.

While the Cougars are busy improving their position on the bubble, the Utes are busy improving their position for the lottery...

oh wait...
