I note that the government measures only "accidental" deaths when
comparing agricultural deaths to general population deaths. They probably should
take into consideration "drug related" deaths, etc. etc. when
attempting to measure the dangers young people face in agriculture. I was
driving a farm truck at age 12 and a farm tractor at age 14. It didn't cause me
any deprivation as I later on graduated from college and got my MBA from the
nation's top business school.
