We're already seeing major differences between being a 2 time BCS game winner, BCS member vs. being a WAC champion in recruiting battles.

Chase Hansen - byu fan all growing up - Ute!
Zach Lindsay - byu fan all growing up - Ute!
Vaha Vainuku - byu fan all growing up(didn't even bother taking official visit to byu even when told offer was coming upon his visit - OUCH!) - Ute!

There is a reason we don't see high profile recruits switching from what seems an automatic lock for Utah to become cougars. Going undefeated, going to BCS games, winning BCS games is more appealing than losing to every good team you play and then beating your chest by beating WAC nobodies.

This has turned out to be a stellar recruiting class. Frankly, I'll be more surprised if Troy Hinds doesn't switch to the red before returning from the mission than if he does. Two more WAC championships will hardly excite any missionaires reconsidering.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

The future of football in Utah, is Utah

Fanaika is considering byu I hear? LOL.

I'll sing the byu fight song if this kid picks byu. Just last week Stanford, Utah, Utah State, Snow, Weber, and SUU were all ahead of byu he said.

Do I hear a preseason BCS buster favorite?

Er, make that WAC champion.

Looking forward to seeing Brandon Fanaika share in the unique BYU experience.

Welcome aboard all of the outstanding players who will sign with the Cougars today!

Congrats to all the Utah players getting scholarships today!

Sounds like Utah will be a big hit with all the instate signings. I think some will have an opportunity to play as freshman. Fanaika and Chase Hansen will have a good chance. I heard Moana committed to Utah, with only Utah and Arizona offering him. I heard they cancelled his trips to Florida State and Michigan, so Utah was his best bet.

BYU is trying to be like Stanford now. Mendenhall raised the bar for student athletes, so I know the talent pool will be going down. If most of these athletes were to choose between the Y and Stanford, I'm pretty sure they would choose Stanford. So good luck Mendenhall.

I hope Utah State, Weber State, and Southern Utah did well. Good luck to all the athletes in college!

Something to think about

Utah recruit Hunter Dimick will be the surprise of this years signing class.
