Sounds like a perfect fit for coach Whit! He will be able to turn a kid like
this into a possible NFL prospect after 4 years.I can't wait to see
how the rest of this recruiting class shapes up this week. If a few top
prospects on the list end up signing with Utah, this will be the Utes highest
ranked class ever!It should be an exciting week for the Utes.
Looked for him on youtube the other day when I saw Utah was picking up interest
in him and couldn't find any football tape of him, but there was a video of him
playing around in the gym with his friends and the dude can explode off the
ground! Some conditioning will probably do him good, but if he can come off the
line like he was going for a dunk, he'll be around the corner and to the QB in
zero seconds flat.
@qwest perfectedAnd you claim BYU fans are delusionsal.LOL!
Looks to be another great find from the coaching staff up on the hill.Kept
his hopes up that BYU would offer him , but took Utah over the Y before Roscoe
and his bros finally woke up. From the press release... "
PASONI TASINI, a very busy four-sport MIL Athlete of the Year in 2010-11,
improved in all categories from a year ago. His combine best 32.5 vertical jump
is the one stat that jumps off the paper its written on when you consider he's
6-foot-3, 240 lbs. Easily the MIL's top college football prospect ".
Coot hunter, Bad day sitting on the sidelines throwing rocks at the big
boys? Gotta pick it up man, your stuff is getting weak.
@ Duckhunter. You know this because you coached this kid too ?
@duckboyPlease explain what is so delusional about my comment? Maybe you haven't noticed because you've been listening to Bronco talk
about how he is going to win a national championship at one of his firesides.
The Utes have put quite a few players in the NFL over the last several years so
I don't think that is delusional. I also mentioned that this could
be the highest ranked recruiting class the Utes have had - that is also not
delusional. I'm just basing that off of Rivals and Scout. So are you telling
me they are delusional?Good luck this week - of course you don't
need lick when your coach says he will never lose a recruit. Man that is a
great position to be in. I'm just glad he didn't want any of the players that
have committed to Utah. Doh!Go Utes
@qwest"Sounds like a perfect fit for coach Whit! He will be
able to turn a kid like this into a possible NFL prospect after 4
years."Let's see, utah "fans" are now claiming that
an unranked, unheard of, after thought, last minute recruit, is now going to be
an NFL prospect. Yes that is delusional. No whittingham does not take every
recruit and "turn them into NFL prospects" LOL!None of us
know's a thing about this kid other than utah just committed him at the last
minute and you are somehow sure he is going to be an "NFL prospect". I
remember last year at this time when you were all claiming the rugby player was
going to be some super stud rb. He baiscly never saw the field and now they are
going to change him to defense because he obviously flamed out at rb. Good grief.....LOL!
@flamesoutNope, never even heard of him. No one has. Now qwest has
him in the NFL based on nothing more than utah offered him a scholarship, almost
the only school to do so. Yes delusional.LOL!
Duckhunter, how little you know. Thretton Palamo has wanted to play LB all
along, but depth issues at RB and a lot of defensive depth last year made the
coaches put him in at RB, where he looked pretty strong in spring ball. If JWIV
hadn't broken out as the player he is and Tauni Vakapuna rejoined the team right
before the season started, he would have likely seen quite a few offensive
snaps. Regardless, he was a big special teams contributor this year, so saying
he "baiscly (sic) never saw the field" is ignorance, and now I for one
hope he does get to play the position that he joined the team for.
@ Duck lololololololololololololololololololol !!!!!!!
@ Qwest Perfected | 7:44 p.m. Jan. 29, 2012 Salt Lake City, UT Ya Qwest. According to Ducky " I remember last year at this time when
you were all claiming the rugby player was going to be some super stud rb."
Kinda like Ducky saying that John White was "just some JC transfer, he
won't be any good" and that Heaps "would win the Heisman before he
graduates." No wonder Ducky wanders off to Tulsa.
@duckyRead my post again. I said that Kyle could Possibly turn this
kid into an NFL prospect.I'm not sure where you got confused but I
think it was probably a long time ago.Maybe you should concentrate
on how awesome your teams recruiting class is. Maybe this is your year! Lol.As for me, I'm going to concentrate on the Utes recruits.
Word is that Will Latu decided on Oklahoma. Bummer for sure, but at least it's
not a team we're likely to face off against (a la Isi Sofele). Good luck to Will
in the Big XII.
@stgScramble to spin it however you want, the fact remains as a rb,
which so many of you claimed the rugby player was going to be a stud at, he
never saw the field. As for this other kid, no one has ever heard of
him including all of you yet qwest thinks whittingham is going to turn him into
an NFL prospect. Based on what? That he committed to utah? Please, that is
delusional.BYU has a kid from Washington that will sign this year
that is not a highly rated recruit but has off the charts athletic ability.
Hieofully he turns into a player but no one here is claiming he'll be turned
into an NFLer and don't give me any "whittingham puts guys into the
nfl" spin either. The number of players from each program in the NFL is
actually very close and if you are just counting players the coaches themselves
"put in the NFL" we can add Brian Urlacher to Bronco's list. Of course you can get back to me if the rugby player ever turns into any type
of player, I wish him well also.
Another good athlete for the Utes. Looks like the Hater is back trolling the
Utes recruiting thread and laughing at his post. Kinda sad and pathetic when you
think about it: GO UTES!
Duck,I'm not scrambling for anything because I don't speak on behalf of
every Utes fan, but I never made those claims. Yet with Pasoni, you're claiming
"no one has ever heard of him including all of you," which is untrue
as well. I had been following him over the last month or so, so there goes
another Duckhunter Myth.
I like how Duckhunter makes us byu fans look smart.
NO one heard of him and yet True Blew sports has BYU all over this guy.
Don't feed the duck, his nose will just keep growing.. eh Figaro ?Please
just re read my quote above from the press release. Good get Utes !
Sept 17th, 18th... Tulsa.. ROTFL ! No Wi Fi in Tulsa ? ROTFL
duky,"The number of players from each program in the NFL is
actually very close"LOL go count again. Then count the number
of starters, it's actually not very close.LOL thanks for the
@midlifecrisisIt actually is very close, you need to
"count" instead of just regurgitating false utah "fan"
talking points. LOL!@failstormYou never heard of him and
unless you are some college football nerd that sits around looking at recruiting
sites (stgtoslc) then no one else had either. Great, awesome, phenomenal,
fantastic, wonderful, exciting, blah, blah, blah.As usual this is
just about pointing out the hypocrisy, and even more fun, the delusion, of utah
"fans". Now you guys are telling us that the single act of committing
to utah makes them an "NFL prospect". LOL!
Duckhunter has 5 out of 21 on a U article? He must not realize that most are
laughing at him not laughing with him? - LOL @ DH
Being consistently proven wrong doesn't make someone else a nerd, it just shows
that "hypocrisy" goes full circle right back to the one making
@duckboyYou're really reaching on this one. It's nice to
know how interested in Utah's recruiting class you are. The only one spining
anything is you. You have posted on this Utah article several times now. I'm
sorry that your own team isn't providing you with enough satisfaction. It has
to be difficult to keep your head up when your team hasn't done anything
significant for 28 years.Don't give up because just like Bronco said
(and he is not delusional), he will win a national championship at byu. So you
have that going for you. I expect to see them ranked in the top 10 in all the
preseason polls for this next season.LOL
Haha I'd rather be a nerd than a heretic with fanciful conspiracies of DN
insiders out to get them. Congrats.
1- ESPN lists 21 NFL players from Utah and 13 from BYU. That isn't close.2- The comment from Qwest Perfected about Utah having it's best recruiting
class ever will most likely be proved true on Wednesday unless a lot of
surprises happen. Could be a top 25 class.3- Rivals is reporting Hiva
Lutui committed to Utah today. His final 3 were Utah, USC, and BYU. Let's drop
the 'we've never lost a recruit' talk from down south. Exhibit 1 - Chase
Hansen, Exhibit 2, 3, 4, and more will sign with Utah on Wednesday.
Duck Hunter: Let's give credit where credit is due: the rugby player, Thretton
Palamo, is the Ute upending a BYU player in the featured photo from that
historic game. He had a solid year on special teams, especially kickoffs where
he was instrumental in knocking the snot out of returners...not bad for a first
year kid. Whit obviously knew how to make him into a player. And check out the
schools represented in this year's pro-bowl...Utes up there with the Nation's
finest. So I think it is fair to brag about Utah's ability to put quality
players into the NFL, and to take athletes and turn them into players. So let's
not "Newt" the facts....
Hiva Lutui vs. Theodore King? Not even CLOSE!! Big Brother comes out smelling
like a rose again!!
@MidMajor4everHe certainly didn't count how many Utes were on the
NFL Pro Bowl ballot (11) vs bYu (?), or how many Pro Bowlers were from Utah (3)
vs bYu (0). I guess little things like facts won't keep some people from
arguing their case, then laughing at themselves!Man it's great to be
a UTE!! Onward and Upward!
