This game is huge for the Cougs. Beat the Gaels in Provo, split with the Zags, and all three teams should be dancing in March. I hope our perimeter shooting starts to fall. If our outside game is ineffective, teams will double team Hartsock and Davis every possession.
#20 Saint Mary's(20-2) visiting BYU(18-5) in a sold out Marriott Center filled with 23,000 screaming fans. This what college basketball is all about.
Go Cougs!
"Cougars hoping fans show up to watch them play Gaels".
I think what would be more accurate is "Fans hoping Cougars show up to play Gaels".
"Cougars hoping fans show up to watch them play Gaels"
A bit of an understatement by the DN since the game is already a sellout and the students have created another tent city for the first come first served student section. The Marriott Center will be rockin'.
What a dumb title for the story, this isn't the Huntsman Center.

"What a dumb title for the story, this isn't the Huntsman Center".
Apparently you haven't been watching BYU home games lately. They're are a lot of empty seats at the Marriott Center for their conference home games. I mean seriously who would want to go see a WCC conference game? I don't blame the fans for not wasting their money to see Portland, San Diego, ect.
@uey and the news...
...and the huntsman center can't even pay the utility bill...

News for U,
How many Ute fans show up (or will show up) when Utah plays teams like Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, and the other PAC teams? I find it so funny that you are talking smack to BYU fans about having empty seats! And as a matter of fact, I have gone to the home games, and there are quite a few empty seats, but it is still at least half full. It's not as empty as you make it seem. Have YOU been to the BYU games?
newsfor u
As opposed to wasting your money watching your team lose to UNC Ash, Harvard, Cal State, Montana high, etc. etc. etc. But hey you beat that San Diego Christian school...... (barely)

Apparently TWICE as many BYU fans as Utah fans showing up for PAC 12 games.
Average attendance at BYU's home WCC games: 16,552
Average attendance at Utah's home PAC 12 games: 8,721
BYU WCC
San Diego - 16,369
San Francisco - 14,823
Santa Clara - 16,116
Loyala Marymount - 12,751
Saint Mary's - 22,700
Utah PAC 12
Wash St - 8,412
Washington - 8,887
Arizona - 8,492
Ariz St - 9,092
Of course Utah's highest attended game of the season was versus BYU, 10,327, compliments of the 1,000's of BYU fans who attended the game.
btw, Utah's PAC 12 opener against your "new rival" only drew 6,491.
bottom line, BYU is averaging more fans per WCC home game than the capacity of the Huntsman Center.
I've got News For U, Pac 12 basketball is terrible, not as good as WCC and Utes are the dregs of the Pac 12.

"Yeah too bad the Utes aren't in the MWC anymore - not!
If the cougs were in the MWC, they would be in 3rd or 4th place"
So with SDSU getting completely owned by CSu today, I guess that would make Byu the #1 or #2 team in the mwc?
Are there any teams in the Pac - 12 ranked in the top 25?

Wishful thinking on the part of a Utah troll. During the Dave Rose era at BYU, the Cougars have never finished worse than 2nd in the conference. On the other hand, the Utes have rarily finished higher than 6th.
Season BYU Utah
2005-06 2nd 6th
2006-07 1st 6th
2007-08 1st 6th
2008-09 1st 1st
2009-10 2nd 5th
2010-11 1st 7th
Regardless of conference, not much has changed. BYU is always in the thick of the conference and Utah is usually bottom tier. It wouldn't be any different if BYU was in the PAC 12 this year and Utah was in the WCC.
That's just the way it is.
