Welcome to Utah, new recruits! Welcome to the Conference of Champions. You are now being coached by the best and in an elite BCS Conference.
Coach Whittingham will make you faster, stronger and smarter. You have made an excellent choice.
Great looking class right now with some possible additions on signing day. Also possible to have at least one big name commit change their mind. Let's let the dust settle and then look at the final product before making too many comments.
I'm excited about the potential of the Utes recruiting class but as has already been mentioned, there are a lot of things that can change between now and Wednesday. I know there are a few big names that could still swing our way but some could change their minds too. It could be one of the best classes the Utes have landed.
Our condolences to the new recruits who have chosen to join a PAC 12 bottom dweller. Even Colorado is signing a stronger recruiting class.
Enjoy the bottom of the Pac 12 boys. And guys like Hedgie, Chrissy, Otis good luck your going to need it!
Chase will look to seeing you in Cugar Blue after your mission. Thanks for making ute fan feel good for the moment.

bottom dweller? You talking about the team that just finished an 8-5 with its backup quarterback, the team with 18 returners, including most of its insane defense and JWIV, and the only team besides Oregon that most football sites (ESPN, Rivals, etc...) are predicting to give USC a run for its money next year?
As for colorado, I applaud them. But this gets into the whole star debate. It's not what you've got, it's what you make of what you've got, and I'd rather take our recruits and our three star cornerback over their recruits and Yuri Wright any day. Coach Embree's desperate enough to take him despite his actions since he's got talent. But, he;s already shown that he has a character issue, and I sincerely hope it doesn't come around to haunt Embree in the future. Still, despite a good recruiting class, Colorado's still expected to finish bottom of the Pac next year, maybe 4 wins.
MN Ute
Bottom Dweller, finishing 8th in a 12-team league, and losing your season finale at home to a 10-loss team. BYU finished 10-3, ranked in the Top 25, with its backup quarterback. USC will have a Top 10 recruiting class and, unlike this year where U were given a free pass, next season you'll have to get past USC just to win the division.
Utah's choices for QB next season:
- an injury-prone former starter
- a Division II transfer
- a true Freshman
And still no quality backup.
Good luck with that.
Lots of jealous Cougar fans posting on a Utah article and as usual misquoting or making up facts. Did not see any of them mention that EVERY recruiting service rates Utah's incoming class higher than BYU.
your mighty 10 win wac championship team lost to that same pathetic pac 12 bottom dweller by a very large margin.
butters
If getting blown out 3 times in conference AND losing to one of the worst teams in the nation at home, means nothing. Then ONE 54-10 fluke means nothing. U beat just as many teams the equivalent of Wac teams as well, no matter how you try to put that Pac spin on it.
It's kind of unfair to call BYU the "WAC championship team." Because that was La Tech... a team that actually had a legitimate shot at beating TCU.
BYU's THREE losses all came to bowl-winning teams.
Utah's FIVE losses all came to bowl-losing teams or teams that didn't even play in a bowl.
Bottom Line:
BYU finished the season ranked in the Top 25 for 5th time in the last 6 seasons.
Utah finished out of the rankings, as usual.
Obviously, that fluke, turnover-plagued win at BYU wasn't all that meaningful in the overall season, except to our BYU-obsessed friends on the hill.
btw, BYU finished with a break-even record in the PAC 12; better than Utah's losing record.
Uteanymous, anything to escape the reality of a head-to-head result.
A lot of uninformed trolls out. Utah's recruiting class is in the middle of the PAC 12. They finished in the middle of the PAC 12, and was only one of two PAC 12 teams to win a bowl game. Calling a 54-10 beat down a "fluke" is absurd. Score Board Buddy Boy. Nice class for the Utes. Considering what they have down with average recruiting classes, I guess I would be worried too if I pulled for the team that got smacked in the mouth, at home, to Utah by 44 points. Go UTES!
Spin it any way you want, but 54-10 says it all!
SCORE BOARD!
Blah ha ha ha ha ha ha
jarka, you jump to conclusions to quickly. if anyone put a spin on anything it was you putting the wac spin on the lesser teams in the pac 12. i also never said those losses didn't hurt. i was at just about every single one of them.
all of the annoyed cougar fans out there that hate hearing "54-10" echos will get no sympathy from me or any ute supporter. we've been hearing how magic happens and that collie and harline are still open for years.
keep calling september 17, 2011 a fluke if it makes you feel any better. personally i think it's a sad, last ditch effort to excuse a poor performance.
anyway, stepping away from selfish banter (which is what we should have done in the first place) congrats to these kids for receiving a scholarship offer and continuing their dreams of playing football at a higher level. paying for school is one less thing them and their parents will have to worry about.
good luck to them all.
Wow, so much hate and bitterness from the byu fans. I thought byu fans were happy with being independent in football and being a member of the PCC or WWC (I can never remember byu's new conference).
I guess jealousy is a hard emotion to conquer. I wish you all the best.

Spin it any way you want to, but one game does not a season make.
Colorado had SCOREBOARD!
Does that prove that the Buffs were a better team than Utah?

I thought Utah fans left BYU in the dust in June 2010, yet you're still totally obsessed with BYU. Tell me, when was the last time you posted on a Colorado Buffs blog? Is Utah even in the upper half of PAC 12 recruiting classes? As much as U try to convince us otherwise, the BYU game is still THE most important game on Utah's schedule. Utah fans would rather finish with a losing record in the PAC 12, than lose to BYU.
When I read some of the posted comments on this article that tells me, BYU fans/Utah haters made an effort to come on this article and bash. My question to them would be, you must like Utah football. Whether they do or not, my advice to them is, "if you can't beat'em, join'em!"
