Less interview comments--more hustle and toughness, would be a good start.

I wonder if Washburn as a fifth year senior will be with the Utes next year? I think he is due to graduate, so he could transfer somewhere to pursue a graduate degree and play his senior elsewhere without penalty. With Olsen, Bachinsky (sp?), Loveridge and possibly Foster all ready to play minutes at the 4 or 5 next year, I wonder how that works out after this season?

Washburn also strongly dismisses rumors that Boylen told his players that they should transfer from Utah.

"Coach Boylen never asked us to leave," he said. "I heard those rumors too. Nope, guys left because they wanted to for their own reasons. Personally I don't hold any grudges. They did what they thought was best. Me and coach Boylen were very close. But he never said anything like that to me."

It only took 9 months for a media member to finally ask a returning player straight up if Boylen was encouraging guys to leave. I'm sure most of our fans wish the lie was true to make excuses for how bad this year's team is playing. It was bad enough that Bill Riley was promoting the idea on this very site. I wonder where he got that info from...maybe the current coaching staff? Hopefully people will now stop blaming the old coach and hold the new coach accountable for his role in this mess. It's time to move on.
